Junior doctor strike: Union's pay demands unrealistic, says Steve Barclay

Giving those on benefits vouchers is not the problem, the problem is the idea. You want to even further control that group.
You are falling into the trap again.
what trap? if a person has through objective mismanagement got them self into a hole and need long term government support to get out then maybe a bit of control is what they need? and if they are having long term state handouts because of mismanagement then... so be it

but that is assuming we have a system that means that those who ARE responsible and hard working can have an ok standard of living and at the moment I would say we dont, not for everyone anyway.

You did say this quite a while ago if I’m not mistaken. You seem to be quite invested in the uk in some ways yet not in others. Strange.
Actually he seems to have a vehement hatred of things in the UK but when pressed for actual details he (with unnerving regularity) gets it 100% wrong.

I think they are doing an ok job with the Ukraine actually . we have done more than many afaik
I wasn't casually dismissing the Iraq war I was just admitting the fact that I believe the Tories would have done the same such was our relationship with the US at the time (I can't prove it of course just my opinion).
but for corruption I wasn't thinking about the lockdown breaches (far more than a bit of cake btw and you know it) but more the tax evasion, the duplicity, the money to dodgy companies rather than actual companies, and then lizz truss and kwasi kwartang was just the clinker on the .... sandwich. Sunak and Hunt are an improvement imo (despite me strongly disagreeing with Hunt on energy) but Christ it's such a low bar I think some on this forum would be an improvement.

note I have never considered myself left before, certainly never voted labour but imo the current crop need to go

Being a bit dodgy seems to come with the territory when an MP or in government (and also subject to greater scrutiny than the typical private business person) so do you really think that Labour MP's in the same circumstances would be any different?

The other thing that always gets ignored is what is often perceived as ineptness in government can actually be traced back to the civil service who would be the same regardless of which party is in power. All the worst party gate breaches were by civil servants but that was brushed under the carpet and the people weren't even named.

Wrong in your eyes, but then again Iam not the one complaining about my circumstances just about the way this country is run.

No point, I have tried to explain this many times about civil servants, but they are unable to understand.

This is more than Doctors getting a pay rise. This is more the working/middle class getting what they deserve after 40 years of corporate greed. If this were to get pushed through it would be a snowball for everyone else.

The doctors and all public workers winning this is crucial to everyone's future. You only have to look how much money the people at the top are making to realise there is plenty to go around.

That whole PPE farce could have quite easily paid everyone's wages.

It is an absolute joke what Doctors/Nurses/Teachers etc make. Having a daughter currently on the cusp of taking her GSCE's and a wife who suffers from sciatica can see how far we have fallen since I was a teenager.

This is all typed whilst sitting in the waiting room of a private dentist for a clean and polish because NHS dentist simple do not exist anymore.

You actually do a lot of complaining about your circumstances e.g you get a speeding ticket therefore the police are tax collectors

No I can’t help you neither am I inclined to. Others could.
I will have a very nice life. I will have a Life.

I will walk to work in shorts and tee shirt, I will wake up direct sunshine, I will walk to the beach any time I want. I will eat good food not the processed rubbish we are given in this country.

I will have a nice home with ample space and that foreign air flowing through the property.

I will be able to eat at 10 pm or later I will not be restricted by drinking laws, or venue times nor will I see unruly behaviour.

I will keep more of what we earn,

If they change the rules move to goal posts just to raise revenue. When they have roads that say 40 then get reduced to 20 and up to 30 then back to 20.

Well that frothed up quickly.

Trying to give the Tories a free pass because of Blair/Brown is just showing the desperation and the death wails of the ideologues who will probably "rather leave the country" than have any other government and they aren't going to budge.

I am as bored of people not understanding 2006/7/8 as I was bored of people talking about "those risky LDIs" last summer. They don't have a clue. Technical inaccuracies like that (or I saw the film....) are why we are in the state we are now.

MrWong you absolutely stated previously you have hard evidence that senior civil servants were scuppering brexit, but you never followed through with proof.

All I can see is a bunch of die hard Tory Brexit fans unable to cope with the fact that they have been wrong since 2016 and now it's being proved again and again for all to see. It must sting! (of course supporting the current Tory mess, not just Brexit, but that is a defining part of them)

Yours, champagne centrist :D
