What would your correct form of comeback entail? Asking the guy his name and address? Perhaps letting him get away with it, reporting him to the police with a description and hoping they find him?

Yeah. Good luck with that.

It's very easy to take a back seat and suggest what you may or may not have done.

However, no-one here can really suggest how they would react when worked up. Just to clarify: people don't often think rationally when they are worked up over something.

I really don't understand the mentality of people who think that a piece of metal is more important than human wellfare! Which seems to be the case with many people here!!!

No excuse! OP in the wrong! (though I do understand how he felt)

Only Buddhists have only pity for those who pose a threat to them

If you want to avoid arrest and possible prosecution then that's your only option.

I know where people are coming from with what they are saying but the law says that it's wrong, might not like it but tough!!

I remember reading somewhere in the bible (it might have been the bible... I can't remember) where Jesus (I think that's the geezer's name) said that you must turn the other cheek when someone wrongs you.

Clearly, so I said to myself, that man isn't living in the real world. He may be the son of God, but he sure as heck ain't been to some places in the country!

... or it may have been Ghandi who said that. I can't remember. (Ghandi is the son of God, right?)

Avoid the chance of arrest :)

DID you really say that! .....
You appear to be attempting to dodge every single post aimed at you, and submitting posts that don't really say anything bar being incredulous at perfectly fine posts. If you're doing this on purpose, mission accomplished :)

Meh - God, Ghandi, Jesus, Neo, someone said it.

Jack Baeur wrote the Bible - Thats why its so violent.

Just to play devil's advocate here...

As a road user, I don't feel that I should be completely responsable for the ignorance of pedestrians. If some idiot wants to step out in front of traffic without looking, that is his call.

Safety is a 50-50 thing. As a road user, I am not responsable if some pedestrian isn't aware of their surroundings.

singist, what you are suggesting is insane! Are you really implying that road users - i.e. the OP - is responsable for the lack of awareness displayed by the pedestrian? I suggest you grab yourself a copy of the highway code, mate.
