just ordered this baby..

Btw, just to get you more excited, I finished my *pimp* review on my blog last night. :)

I'm in looooooove! This thing is amazingly cool. I'll add more later, first gotta print some work off and run to uni, might even introduce the notebook to the uni library for the first time. :D

Just read your review on the 1530 and was wondering if anyone knows if there will be any more revisions (especially screen res) for the 1330 in the near future?

As stated in the review (somewhere lol) Dell have already stated that the bigger screens are arriving any time now, if they aren't here already. US and Canada have 1680x and 1920x screens already for the 1530. UK as usual, is behind.

But is that just for the 1530 or the 1330 as well? I had a look on the US and Canadian Dell sites and they have the same screens so hopefully they won't change for a while.

Ah apologies I was talking about the 1530. I'm afraid I haven't seen any upcoming changes yet for the 1330. Although I have red that the XPS range will be getting more customisation options. From what I can see, the M1330 is an incredible seller for them.

this is a joke with 10% off i can get the led screen and pay ten pounds less! im extremely annoyed! what can i do, just return it and re-order?? surely calling up will get me no where! voice what is your plan mate? add me on msn if you wanna chat about this

When did you order? Unless it was between Saturday and yesterday they have had 10% discount codes for about a month.

I'm going to phone them, tell them I've had mine for less than a day, and that I want the difference refunded. If I'd had the thing for two weeks already, fair enough, but this is unacceptable. I'm a student, I can't afford to just waive off £55 or so. It's an expensive enough purchase as it is.

Gonna get dialling as soon as it hits 9am, so will let you know what happens. If they don't want to give a refund though, I'm inclined to return it as unwanted/dissatisfied and get a refund. Wouldn't re-order one though, if that happens to be their attitude. I've still got a perfectly good 630m sitting here that I can go back to.

Let me know how you go on with getting some money knocked off. I ordered mine on the 13th for £705 thinking there wouldnt be another discount code, going to hit the phones later. Guess I can always threaten to cancel it ;)

They haven't budged for me. They did say, however, that they have a 7-day returns policy, so I could return it and order a new one. Obviously would be waiting for a new one to arrive again though.

Dunno what to do. If it was going to be a better spec as well as cheaper, I'd probably do it. But...I just don't know. Probably the last Dell I'll buy though, in any case.

Why? Because they reduced it in price/provided a discount code? All companies do that so it's nothing special about Dell. And it's not as if the discount codes are easy to find, infact I'm not entirely sure why dell do discount codes.

I'm not saying I wouldn't be annoyed if the price suddenly dropped, but that it's a standard thing so you just have to put up with it.

I know that. It was the fact that I'd had it for a day, and then the price was dropped by quite a chunk. It was worth a try anyway, would have been stupid to not make an attempt.

Something interesting I've found: Changing the disk mode (in the BIOS) to ATA rather than AHCI seems to cause a 10MB/sec increase in disk operation speed. Just done multiple HD Tune runs with both, and ATA works out noticeably faster.

On a similar note, my HDD seems to click a fair bit...which is worrying. Does yours do that? It's a Samsung 160GB.
