"Just stop oil"

it does seem mind boggling that a couple of people can bring a huge section of the country to a grinding halt. of course if they send paratroopers up there to force them down and something went wrong, a huge section of the media would be up in arms about brutality.

This is so funny

Yet look at our Police. Anything you need, can we help you, tea, coffee as 10's of them stand around the protestors looking lost what to do. In between the ones out with solvents trying to very carefully not hurt the protestors glued hands. What the hell is going on with this country?

I've said for years that we are now at the stage where we need a benevolent dictator with an aversion to political correctness and spurious health and safety issues.

Wow. At least you're honest I guess...

Call me old fashioned but i'd rather not welcome in a fascist dictatorship, just in order to end an annoying protest.

What a joke we are at dealing with these morons and people generally. I didn't know about the milk pouring thing in supermarkets; I just saw it posted above in this thread. I think the way those people are able to stand there and keep doing it highlights everything that the UK has become now. Security and staff there are scared to touch them in fear of their own lives being impacted by whatever law and rights they might break by dealing with it. Go back in time and those people would be physically removed from the store instantly.

The people on the QE2 should be forced down and locked up for what they have done.

People should be allowed to protest though...I dont agree with the milk nonsense and spraying paint everywhere though to be honest.

As for the QE2, how can they be forced down?

A T-shirt cannon firing "Just Keep Oil" T-Shirts?

A water cannon? These protesters are most likely not SAS candidates and I feel would probably come down after getting saturated up that high. If they fall during removal....oh well.

Playing devil's advocate....

If someone threatens my house and my life I am allowed to use reasonable force to stop them. Very few people disagree with that premise.

Now, imagine that Earth is where I live (it is) and that my life is at risk because of global warming (it is). Surely I am entitled to take action to protect my home?

In 20 or 50 years time getting to work an hour late because QE-II bridge is closed will be nothing compared to world-wide crop failures, freak weather, floods, wildfires, mass migration due to starvation everywhere south of Europe.

All they are trying to do is make people and governments WAKE UP and do something to protect our children and their children.

Reasonable physical force.... But sure use reasonable force on me for not using the recycling bins and I will defend myself from being assaulted.

Then go after the government, the ones who will ensure change on to us civilians. Going after us civi's does nothing for your cause.

Also if earth is your home, you can never be classed as homeless surely.

Got to respect a well reasoned counter-point. Lol.
expecting governments to protect our children and do the right thing is the hilarious point of it mate, sod the protest, you're all living in a dream world if you think they are going to do anything for any benefit other than themselves.
Again, stop taking it out on regular folk who have done nothing to you.
