"Just stop oil"

I wonder, had they closed a toll bridge if the bridge owners could have brought a private prosecution for loss of earnings? As one of them is of "no fixed abode" it probably doesn't bode well for any significant fine being able to be paid however. Sadly I think Tombstone is probably correct and the liberal elements of our current judiciary will show their usual lack of mettle.
The QEII bridge is a toll bridge.

Prisons are completely full, is it really a good idea to lock up these people when people done for robbery, assault, and other serious crimes don’t get a prison sentence.

I think a tagging order and a fine is more apt.

Yeah, a tag with a 25lb iron ball attached would be adequate. It may inhibit future climbing adventures.

They should get the maximum sentence the law allows otherwise they'll just be doing it again next week.
i sympathise with you sentiment but in a world where rapists are getting out for a fraction of that time it does not seem right to me. Better given them a short time to get a taste, a large enough fine that it will affect them significantly, and a lot of comminity service

Climate protestors who glued themselves to Volkswagen’s floor are left in the dark

told us that they supported our right to protest, but they refused our request to provide us with a bowl to urinate and defecate in a decent manner while we are glued, and have turned off the heating. People in support can't get out of the building.

The German ones seem to have lied about gluing their hands, The security guards should go get some superglue and help them out

I love this story. Just leave them to protest, and go about your business. Exactly how they should be dealt with.
The guy that scaled the dartford crossing bridge, just close the two lanes closest to him and let people get on their way. Have the police around to arrest him when he decides to break his hunger strike.
The ones that glued themselves to some painting. Leave them there and make it a tourist attraction, sell some rotton fruit while you're at it.

Nah its the attention they want. They should just come in and put partitioning so no one can see them, no one can take photos or film them and no one can interact with them. Same with the ones in the road, big tent, direct traffic round them, dont give them food or means to go to the toilet. Then once they unglue themselves to get up arrest them... And put them in the stocks at the side of the road so people that they have held up, stopped getting to appointments or work can throw dog turds at them.
