I saw that just after it launched, surprised it's done that well. But I was interested, but not enough. If you go car camping or picnics down the park/beach etc. Then it's a brilliant bit of kit at a reasonable price. Shipping costs put me off massively.

Shocked it's done that well though.
 
some many good projects but shipping costs are a nightmare - that water ballon one would be ace for the kids (and me!) but $16 and then $25 shipping is hard to take!

I think that at some point there will be a re-balancing of what Kickstarter is about, since the upsides and downsides for "investors" are severely unbalanced. You have a very limited upside - you get an early version of a product that has probably not been tested very well, for slightly cheaper than retail. The downside is you could lose your investment if the project doesn't come to fruition.

There will be a tipping point which is reached where people will realise "What am I actually getting for my money here?".
