I'll be backing it as I had credit from a previous project of theirs I had backed. Seems like a good price for a standalone unit that doesn't require further hardware to work, but still connects to further hardware. Hopefully enough people will back it so they'll upgrade the power of the unit

Out of interest, what do people buy VR headsets for? Don't they get bored of them after a day?

I'm not convinced by this one, whether it will really be any better than a google cardboard or the GearVR plus phone. There aren't many specific specs on the page so there'll be no real idea of whether it will be capable of a good VR experience. It's hard to tell if it even really has positional tracking (seems quite unlikely without a PC to do the work) and the tracking latency will probably be poor in comparison to a proper HMD.

edit: just saw the specs, maybe they've been added since yesterday.. 1080p @ 60hz is not going to be a great experience, and no mention of whether the screen is pentile or rgb

Is there any better way of browsing kickstarter projects rather than just picking a section like Technology and then scrolling through the huge list of projects and constantly having to click on the see more projects button?

Zero mention of support from anyone, the video mention apps but who is making these apps? VR will live or die by its software and I don't believe a small project like this is ever going to succeed, it's like a Chinese knock off games console that comes with Super Lario sisters.
