***kickstarter***

Is there any better way of browsing kickstarter projects rather than just picking a section like Technology and then scrolling through the huge list of projects and constantly having to click on the see more projects button?

try using kicktraq.com

there have been a couple of those come through ks and other routes recently - not a bad idea for filtering the crap out of your tank but as mentioned getting the balance right would be a pain i think

It looks like the Zano Kickstarter project is well and truly grounded with the Ceo running away from the crowdfunders wanting blood.

So that's the second project I have got stung by.

The Zano project looks to have been a scam on a major scale as it broke most of kickstarters rules so maybe Kickstarter should be held accountable for not checking or maybe they are there for the easy money.

My earin should be here in the next few days.

They got absolutely screwed by their logistics provider who accidentally sent out 2x units to 800 backers meaning later backers were delayed. They were also really slow at shipping from the warehouse too which meant that the product hit the shops in the US before they arrived to backers. Even better, the units that were in the shops had the kickstarter engraving with free extra buds. There's some angry backers on their forum! I can see why earin done it though, they need to be in the shops before Christmas.

At least they're getting products! I'll post some pics when mine finally arrives *fingers crossed*.

Well I've only ever backed one (above) and it was fully funded within 22 hours!

I know the guy and he's confirmed the printed copies are already being produced, so looks like I'm 1 for 1 :D

What's cool and cheap and interesting kicking about at the moment?

My Remix Android PC that I backed arrived today. Not had chance to have a play with it yet.

Delivery was a little slow but I guess they had a lot to ship from China.

Packaging looks pretty cool, did anyone here else back this?

So far the ones I've backed have been ok, but I've not backed many, and those I have done are ones operated by people/companies who have a track record in businesses related to the projects.

Two of them for new/updated releases of classic animation where the big problem with releasing them was the risk that not enough people would buy, so the company basically used Kickstarter to get the minimum funding required and once it went over that the stretch goals were for nice extras such as additional related materials (in one case digital copies of a very long out of print tabletop RPG), so the end package would depending on how many people got involved have as much of the material as possible.

The problem with some Kickstarters is that they're obviously being set up by people who have little or no business experience, let alone experience doing what they're aiming for (IE no experience managing a business even if they've had experience making something).

Back in Time Symphonic C64 Collection on Kickstarter

In this Kickstarter by C64Audio.com which is pushing for a £30,000 goal, they are aiming to raise money to arrange and produce a box set of Symphonic Commodore 64 studio arrangements that sound like properly large, epic )(or bouncy and fun, or eerie and mysterious) film soundtracks. Not only that but they also want to produce full transcripts for orchestras to play live in concerts, creating a new generation of SID fans with incredible scores for people of all ages.

Just seen this. Notice their base is Pembroke Dock. Says it all.
