***kickstarter***

i got the ones before this, they are very good.... mostly as a display item :P played with them for about 5mins, now sat in my cabinet

I have idle fingers and often fiddle with things when working, so hopefully it will be good for that. I grabbed the cheapest top and base set (Stateless Steel).

Currently going through options on how to recover any money from the Ibox Nano kickstarter. Obviously I'm aware of the risks of kickstarter, but the project creator has made no effort to fulfill pledges and has ceased all contact now.

Basically there isn't it's part of the risk and why the rewards are rewards, it's not a purchase.
Most people seem not to understand this, even though it's clearly stated many times and you accept the terms.

You would likely get a credit card charge back, but expect Kickstarter to ban you.

No, I completely understand how it works and have no issue with a Kickstarter failing, but this feels fraudulent.

Being banned from Kickstarter would hardly be a big loss, they have been absolutely useless in helping any of the backers get in touch with the creator.

Why, because they didn't deliver?
That doesn't make it fraudulent.

Reading some of the comments, doesn't sound fraudulent at all, problems with production, quality control etc and ran out of money. That sounds like genuine risk.

They haven't communicated any of that at all, that is all coming from backers comments. All updates have been that they will shipping the product, etc, etc. They claimed they were shipping the products from around July, but nobody (apart from beta testers before that) were receiving them, then they started retail selling via amazon and their website, claiming next day deliverd was available and still backers were not receiving pledges and then around Sept they ceased all contact/ response with no word that there were any issues.

I have just been through this with the UBIK Uno, i claimed my money back through my CC, Kickstarter locked my account for a few days, and sent me a generic email, basically saying dont do it again, and unlocked it again

https://www.kickstarter.com/project...tion-and-vibration-device-under?ref=discovery

Immersit, a plug & play device installed under your couch, can generate a very high amount of movement patterns and vibrations ranging from explosive to subtle: pitches, rolls & heaves, moving users back & forth, from side to side and up & down.
All these, combined with intelligent vibrations and an adjustable intensity, result in the ultimate movie and gaming experience in which each explosion, wave & sharp turn is felt directly by the user from his own furniture.

That's my reasoning for being confident it breahes patents. If that style of case wasn't protected then there would be loads of clones of it by now.

I've asked the guy directly to provide the evidence and confidence that this won't be subject to a legal challenge from Apple, and he's skirted around the question with a "its only a case" reply, and its a copy/paste of the reply he keeps putting in the comments on the Kickstarter page, where he refuses to even acknowledge that this may be an issue. So the guy wants $180 for something with no proof that it's going to be allowed to be made... I'm out.

Ha. Someone has pointed out in that Dune Case Kickstarter that even if every single pledge available is purchased, they still won't hit the $130,000 mark to trigger the project as funded.
