No point trying to argue facts with someone who has already made their mind up about billions of people based on some anecdotal evidence and some news articles. I could also prove that all white people are bent peados if I spent 10 mins on the DM website.

His source (the BBC) claimed that over 50% of "people claiming to be doctors" in India were not, actually, doctors. Ie, frauds.
50% is more than just statistically significant. It means that, should you approach somebody in the street and ask them if they are a doctor, you're just as likely to find a fake doctor as a real one.
(You would hope that the hospitals would be capable of identifying the fakes, but we know even in this country that fake doctors do managed to get jobs as real healthcare workers.)
Spouting nonsense about logical fallacies doesn't make you look smart, especially when you miss entirely the context of the post and the serious - and surprising - nature of the claim made (by the BBC).
What nonsense. My extended family is Indian and I have no interest in being racist toward Indians or anyone else.
The claim made by the BBC, however, is frankly staggering.
Burying heads in the sand and screaming "racist" helps nobody - especially if there is an issue here which could put lives at risk.
I know we live in an era where feelings are all-important, and minor stuff like ensuring doctors are qualified to practice are not really as important as being PC.
It isn't, it's probably what pretty much explains a lot of the performance gap - interest in an area, desire to succeed and hard work - that's partly helped by culture, being raised by parents who value that etc...
As for stuff about Indians in india.. well that's rather separate - Indians in the UK are people who've made the effort to emigrate over here from say Indian populations in Africa (who themselves were often descended from middle class indians who moved to African nations during colonial times) and people who've made the effort to come from India and later on when things were stricter re: immigration, highly qualified people who've chosen to emigrate here more recently.
Given they're in the UK education system I'm not sure any widespread corruption in the Indian education system is particularly relevant to British Indians... I'd wager if various brits could get away with the same antics as some of these Indian students in India then they'd do so too.
