** LG 27GL850 GAMING MONITOR SAVE £120 - NOW £379.99 **

Got one of these on order, an amazing price :D

OLED is the worst for my pocket mainly due do 2 factors :

1) Once you use one (for my case home cinema) you never want anything else, the screen is so nice.
2) When it inevitably burns to a point you always see it .... you are forced (by point 1) to get a new one.

I have an 2017 LG OLED 55" TV (was brought new in 2018) that now has a massive LG logo burned into the red channel in the middle of the screen :( Waiting for the 2020 models to go on sale at the end of the year to get a new one.

Something people tend not to talk about too is the black crush apparent on OLEDs. I own a B9 and in darker scenes it can be tricker to see things :) Especially for RPGs and films.

Considering buying one of these over a 60hz more budget example at £260 ish (Iiyama)
I currently probably don't have the power to run this at 144hz but likely will in the future, so I pose this question:

Should i buy this one to futureproof a little even though I will likely only run it at 60hz or similar for a while.

I wonder whether the probable improvement in panel quality will be worth the increased price regardless, but I'm not sure on running monitors below their advertised refresh rate!

I had the same dilemma as I'm running 1080p 144hz in most my games but my old acer predator 24" monitors are very outdated (only 144hz over dvi and 60hz over hdmi with no DP) with my 980ti. But I plan to get whatever gpu's are upcoming this year so I thought for the price I don't think I could go wrong! At least I'll have the right ports for the newer gpu's

edit:fluffed the quote up on mobile

Yeah i think the additional ports will be a good idea too. For the extra £100 odd I think it's probably worthwhile, just wanted some views!

I found this to be true for PS4 (or console) content only, which was fixed by adjusting the gamma settings on the TV on whatever picture profile you use for those consoles :) Spiderman on PS4 especially looked crushed to hell so much that you couldn't see half the game!

only problem is what to do with the massively oversized box , i thought i had ordered 42" Tv by mistake. in the garden with the saw later i think to see if i get the card board in the recycling and the polystyrene in blacksacks, the stand will go to the tip at some point. The Stands should be an option. Ive binned everyone ive ever bought since CRTs
