I am no expert when it comes to UPS but I have been told by the guy that pointed me in the direction of house wiring might be the issue that a UPS with PureSine is required to fix this type of issue. A surge protector wouldn't help CyberPower PureSine is recommended from him and I should just select the required total power for only my monitors leaving the PC plugged into the wall socket alone.
Aiui a Pure Sine wave UPS will only matter once you've switched over to the battery of the UPS, it doesn't impact quality of the regular electrical supply passing through it unless there is additional filtering occuring (not related to Pure Swine wave as such). I've several UPS' in use around the house and all are regular UPS units which have all worked flawlessly for many years. I do use a Mains Conditioner and Radio Frequency Interference Filter on my home cinema rack though, if you wanted a clean supply rather than battery backup that would probably be more appropriate.

Ask yourself why you've never encountered the issue at the desktop or in general use though. To my knowledge, no one in this thread or those i've read has had the issue in general use. The most common factor is VRR enabled gaming either on AMD or Nvidia.

This is true..

If it is VRR hopefully a simple firmware will be enough then.

I got off the phone to LG on Friday telling the guy the full story and link this thread but at the time I talked through that I have done and seems to have fixed it. I was told to keep in touch if it happens again guess that is what I must do.

Anyone else in here been in touch with LG about this?

quick question for folks that have the monitor, have you had any issues getting 4k netflix or amazon video to run over displayport, or should i plan on having to use hdmi?

been using a Samsung LU28E570DS for a few years now and even though it's technically 4k it's pretty low end and because it only has HDMI 1.4 I have been limited to 1080p streaming when on the computer, so looking forward to finally getting to stream 4k.

I had 4K monitors since 2018. I have Amazon Prime and I know that Prime Video doesn't do 4K on PCs, no matter what your hardware or OS is. I'm running Ubuntu and years ago I could still watch 1080p in browser, then they downgraded to SD quality which was the last straw. Now I just torrent everything and the stuff is the highest possible quality. It's kind of ironic, they do this for copyright purposes, but it's what ultimately pushes people to "piracy".

You can't stream 4k on amazon, Netflix, or disney+ on a PC even if you have all the right kit and run in browser or through the windows 10 apps. It is a conscious decision from the streaming companies as a PC can easily record its output even with protections in place so they do it to stop people re-streaming or recording copies of their content in 4k. Of course torrents show it is worthless in really stopping piracy but that's the sad state of affairs (I guess as it is easier to stream/record a PC screen than what the people creating torrents have to do they think it will stop ordinary people saving copies or pirating?).

Thanks to this thread I got my 27GP950 in the last batch.

Delivery driver was idiot, he left screen behind field gate at top of drive in the rain. When gate opened (electric) it pushed the box through mud. Good job I'm not a scalper as box was trashed!

I have had 2 black screens in Far Cry 5. 144Hz, not 160. Plugged directly in to wall socket. RTX 3090.

Hey at least he technically left it on your property, my last monitor got left behind some bins 3 doors down from my house, luckily nobody nicked it

Only one set up for now. Checked both for pixels and am relatively impressed by the backlight bleed (or lack there-of). Minor IPS glow, less noticeable than usual (maybe luck of the draw). Better backs/contrast than expected compared to other monitors i've owned (i.e. Pixio PX7 Prime 1440p). Viewing angles are a bit odd, seems to get distorted colour similar to a VA panel. Not what I've experienced before on an IPS. Backlight is a bit silly when starting up, hopefully can turn it off fully in future updates.

Colour is incredible. Going to get a calibrator, which I'm hoping should get the settings spot on and ensure both monitors match. Great sharpness and pop. Incredible image quality. Games will look stunning on it. I'll post a pic of both when they are set up! Any questions on experience so far feel free to get in touch.

Iv'e read if you press and hold the button for 5 seconds it turns the backlight off:p

With very high data rates needed for high fps 4K, signal quality requirements are no doubt tight and interference could certainly cause problems.
Possibly used DSC might increase that vulnerability by making single bit errors have more dramatic effect to data stream.

But during line operation of UPS, output waveform of inverter makes zero difference.
It matters only during battery power.

Also better surge protectors have EMI/RFI filtering comparable to non dual conversion/online UPSes.
And propably better than in very cheap UPSes, in which costs are no doubt cut everywhere.

My old UPS was rated for 400w on the battery side; This new monitor + the extra GPU load from my system swamped this by 100w or more.
That size UPS is simply unfit for any kind better gaming PC.
Successfull transfer to battery power also needs likely some reserve.
Active PFC draws some current almost continuously to keep current draw in phase with voltage and keeping bulk/primary capacitor fully charged.
So "transfer time" delay of UPSes lowers capacitor's charge state, likely resulting in momentary higher power draw to restore charge.

Though that would likely anyway trip the UPS and relays clicking during transfer from line operation to battery is easy to notice.

...its eclectic interference...
...related to Pure Swine wave...
Looks like contest for the most hilarious typo is running hot...

A competitor cancelled my order due to lack of stock but unfortunately Overclockers pre-orders were all gone so bad timing.

Happily, I've been refreshing a LG direct website for the past couple days off and on and managed to get one an hour ago.

My orders just changed to getting ready to dispatch.

No further issues since switching everything to DP, haven't ever experienced a black screen issue.

However...
