Only had black screens in one game, Night of the Dead. 300hrs+ on the monitor and a dedicate gaming PC so 99% of those hours are gaming hours.

Was gaming yesterday and started to notice that the top right corner of the screen has a light yellow glow to it. Its only in the top right all other corners look fine. Pciture is in daylight and exposed to look how it actually looks not worse. I know some is to be expected but I was under the impression that IPS glow is light greyish, there is some of that very minimal in the other corners but the top right is very clearly yellow. It goes away if i push lightly on the back of the monitor.

Would you guys be happy with this:

The above is characterised as 'IPS Glow' and is different from backlight bleed, fairly common unfortunately with most IPS panels :(

Ah from what I had read IPS glow was grey/blue which you can see a bit bottom right and backlight bleed is yellow. Would IPS glow disappear when i apply pressure to the back of the display?

Afaik yes it would.

Ah thats annoying, thanks for the info though.

I know some is to be expected but this is visible in daylight while looking at content, not just with a black screen. My whatsapp window is a different colour slightly if i have it top right. Brightness set to 75% in that pic, is worse again if i increase.

Thanks for this, nearly paid £1000 for the LG on eBay last week and thought I would wait a little longer to see which ones come out.. I'll give it till middle of September and see what's out, and if nothing ill get a 1440p for the meantime.

I'll open pre-orders around lunchtime tomorrow and keep open until I see we've reached more than our expected next intake. This isn't an exact science so please be patient and if I'm late I'll email everyone who is likely to miss out to see if they want to keep their pre-order or cancel.

We should receive 200 units this month (ETA is second week of August but waiting on confirmation from forwarder), with around 10% of those already reserved for those who missed out July.

I've been told to expect no more until October after this.

I'll post here the same time I enable pre-orders. If the buy button isn't live for you then try "ctrl-F5", not "alt-F4".

see the above as quoted for the last pre order at the start of august.

Now had an updated ETA of 31st August to the distributor, so a couple of days later to get the stock to us.

I've emailed everyone with a pre-order.

We should have a small amount left over for general sale after pre-orders have been fulfilled.

That looks quite extreme. Especially if it is making apps change colour.

That does look more like a dodgy panel :(

I know pretty disappointing, I’m pretty sure the top right is backlight bleed since the very far part of the corner is black. All other 3 corners have glow right to the corner point. Also it does not move when I move around like the others it remains visible in the same place. I’ve contacted LG for a return

Thanks Ill take one if theres any left, shall I keep refreshing the screen to see if they become available? If so when?

Sounds like for the money (£800) this monitor is work in progress and really ought not to have any issues. I am so glad I returned mine and bought the 1440p version (27Gp850-b) no black screens and no obvious loss to enjoyment and visual fidelity in games.

Please don't rush out and buy this yet- wait for a few months to see if LG fix the black screening issue with firmware updates...
