LG 38GN950-B

@Chewie, thanks I figured as much and perfectly understandable, though just a bit disconcerting when it involves a high value item - hopefully there will be an update to our orders soon.

That's pretty much what I said in the note I sent them this morning, "don't mind waiting, just let me know everything's ok with the order and give me an ETA please".

I'll be reassured then and will leave them alone :D

I noticed quite a lot of units were sold on through out Monday so I imagine there is quite a backlog of orders to get through in general. The prospect of another lockdown helped prompt my order, I imagine I'm not the only one!

Monitor is fantastic, I upgraded from a 34GL950G and though I wasn't expecting to be bowled over the screen is appreciably bigger in a useful way.

Also the IPS glow is noticeably reduced/improved over my old model - the faint glow is a bit more pronounced irl :

I am in two minds about this one. Looks great, and I like the extra size, but I am not sure I want to drive all those additional pixels.

Just got one of these, big step up, Ordered on Sat and paid for Sunday delivery but it didn’t arrive till Wednesday...

it’s a lovely thing but mine has a dead pixel right in the middle of the monitor..

You wonder really how this happens. On a monitor this expensive you would think they would double check for dead pixels.

@Patch2k Dead or stuck pixel? If you're thinking of RMA, it's worth gently rubbing the affected area with a soft, non-abrasive cloth much as you would when cleaning it; bizarrely that's sometimes enough to resurrect a stuck pixel.

I've had success with this in the past (on mum's el cheapo monitor), nevertheless do at your own risk, standard disclaimers apply, yadda yadda. The way I look at it is, if cleaning should cause things to get worse would you really want to hang onto the monitor?

Not entirely sure, it’s a tiny green spec which is very noticeable when looking at a black screen, have messaged overclockers, just waiting on a response. Having spent that much, I want every pixel to work properly!

Dead pixels are black, so sounds like yours is stuck. The massage method can work, but in my experience it usually doesn't. I've had stuck pixels just go away on their own, but you can never rely on that. You are well within your rights to return, but whether OCUK accept and cover the cost of it will be up to them. You're right though, for this amount of money every pixel should be working. The monitor is INSTANTLY de-valued otherwise, so it's not something I would personally accept.

Can anyone tell me, does the B have a fan? I know the G does, but I am wondering if that is just the G-SYNC module.

If it does then it isn’t noticeable at all but I suspect it is his for the G-Sync module which the B doesn’t have.

all correct in that it doesn’t have a dead pixel, just a stuck pixel, have tried an app to unstick it with no joy. OC have said it isn’t a problem which they wouldn’t exchange for but that I have 14 days to return so going to see if it unstick itself before sending it back, will get another, it’s a lovely monitor other than that. But for that price, every pixel needs to be perfect.

Yeah, but I can still return it for a full refund, but haven’t gone in to specifics about postage. They say the manufacturer doesn’t class a single dead pixel as a fault, which is astounding considering that the manufacturer should ensure everyone of their pixels works correctly, let alone on a £1,500 monitor.

That answers the question I was about to ask. That's pretty poor then. The good news is that Dell have just released a similar monitor that will be here soon and you can spend your money on that. Dell have a zero dead pixel policy. It's a 38" alienware by the way. Probably a bit more expensive but maybe worth it for working pixel guarantee?
