LG 42-inch OLED

That’s the one I would consider as no fees:

https://www.americanexpress.com/uk/credit-cards/platinum-cashback-everyday-credit-card/

Your link has a £25 a year fee. I already have a credit card with a fee I use for shopping etc which pays for its self and leaves some cashback each month, don’t need another one with a fee, just need it for cashback offers and big purchases :)

hmm should have done this before I placed the order if there is no fee.

5% off £1200 is 60 quid making the LG C2 42 £1240 and then retry for the £50 gift card deal.

I wonder if I can cancel that currys order and redo it

Nice to see Mr Curries and Mr Richer competing here, tried that American express application without the fee and they said we have to think about.

Perhaps I shouldn't have done 5 bank switch offer deals

I think he asked for an adapter for a monitor mount - in this case we will need one, as most monitor arms have vesa 75x75 and 100x100, while 42c2 has vesa 200x300. You need adapter like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Part-King®-Mount-Adaptor-converts-Black/dp/B071K6STY2/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2GAJQMVR1B9EF&keywords=vesa+75+adapter&qid=1647700434&sprefix=vesa+75+adapter,aps,43&sr=8-6

Ah thanks, thats the one. Still undecided on this, would be great for someone to run this side by side versus the Alienware QD Aw monitor, once they are both out.

They both seem like great choices so I don’t think either way you will lose out. The AW QD option has a better warranty though.

No real brightness difference between C2 and C1 but a tiny bit he says... better to wait for real comparisons though

So a bit of a dilemma, so caught up in the excitement I didn’t think to check the size of the stand, it looks like stand will overhang my TV stand by around 5cm each side, depth is fine. Is this likely to be an issue, stand looks solid so not sure it is?

At first I thought about the stand is not solid but if you see carefully at how this type of stand is done, it could be solid:

Regarding the overhanging, according to JL, the tv is 3.7cm high:

But I don't understand why our Dutch webstore says 5.3cm.

Its important to remember when you see these comparison videos like the one I posted above, take it with salt since its much different in actual person.

Cameras no matter how good can't capture what the eye sees, I rely more on the verbal commentary, he did mention the C2 was tad brighter
and more sharper detailed then what you see on the camera so I kinda go with that since he is in person. Half these Ytubers don't even own high end
cameras and YT itself compressed the video cutting out detail also.

Id wait for Vincent or Phil from hdtv to do better comparisons, rely on their audio commentary also.

I think Vincent and techradar early thoughts are spot on still, there probably won't be any major difference between C1 and C2, not unless you got the C2 55"+ to see that extra Evo brightness.

Still the LG C2 42 is the best 42" currently on the market, well until QD-OLED or better 42" comes along.

Each time I'm on the verge to kinda give up, I easily get convinced to get the 42C2... I hate mysef. But yeah, OLED pixels are sharper so imagine the ppi on the 42C2.

I also will wait for rtings to review the 42C2. Curious about the image retention. LG are so far the best and highest scored on that.

Richer Sounds are now doing a straight £100 off instead of the buds offer in case not already mentioned.

Ace, called them up again and they applied voucher, seems they also kept the earbuds on invoice they sent as listed so be a nice bonus if they come too.

Also mentioned stock is apparently expected this Wednesday rather then today so hopefully by this Friday some people start getting them.
