LG 42-inch OLED

Damn I think I paid 1300 for mine but I should have known better as I bought it not long after it was released instead of waiting a few months.
Ditto but I've been using mine solidly every single day in that time. Happens every year with every tv. I normally always wait but i waited so long for the 42" to come out I just had to bite the bullet. Still no regrets. I did get some nice LG ear buds thrown in from John Lewis in the deal at the time lol

Don't think anyone ever thought it would drop that quickly and in todays world issues if anything the price could have gone up, still might actually.

Its still a lot better then paying Sonys 42" oled for £1.7k:cry:

True. It dropped far quicker than any one imagined but then as everyone would probably agree it was probably over priced to begin with due to everything that was going on in the world at the time of release.

Folks... Im tempted to go for this as its dropped down to less than 900 notes in Costco....
Is it true you can get bad eyestrain on this?

Not sure why you would think that.. It's a TV so the risk of eye strain is not different to any other.
It also has a host of eco settings and auto dimming settings depending upon room brightness if you want. I just turn all that off though :-D

If you're using it as a monitor and sat 2 feet away from it then you might want to set it up a bit more carefully.

I was watching a video on youtube and one guy was mentioning about eye strain....

Is it ok for general desktop browsing use in addition to gaming/films?
Or is it really overkill for general desktop use?

Can't seem to get any sound via the TV, all I did went it arrived was to use the hdmi cable that I had plugged into my LG CX TV from the PC and plugged that straight into the C2.

LG TV comes up on the sound options on the PC but just nothing happens. Other than that its great. Sound works fine with the PS5.

Now owned this TV (being used as a monitor) for over 2 months, phenomenal. The 65" I've had since 2017 is still going strong in the living room, showing no degradation at all, so I have high hopes for this new one too. Everything looks amazing on it and from a productivity standpoint it's a vast improvement from having 3 separate monitors.

Took me a couple of days to get used to the size, even with it pushed all the way back on a deep desk but that was expected. Absolutely no chance I would go back to my previous setup.

My only complaint is the auto-dimming when using a word document etc but I understand why they've implemented it. I believe you can switch it off but tbh I've left it, if it does help protect stuff then why not and it's only a minor inconvenience. Plus I regularly switch between applications, so it rarely affects me.

Been sat about 80cm - 90cm away and using for 8 hours a day. Was likely one of first to get it so been using it for nearly half a year now. No real issues. Used a bunch of mixed content, games, movies, general browsing (mostly what I do actually) and no real issues at all. All gonna be personal preference. I do tone down the brightness, so technically messing up the HDR aspect I suppose, but makes it a non-issue when sitting this close to it IMO.

How is reading text and general browsing at 100% scale on 4K res at that 3ft or so viewing distance? Or do people scale it up to 125% or higher?

Mines still on 100% and I sit at least 3ft away with having a pull out section on my desk.
Plenty big enough and probably go a tad lower as I thought it looked a bit big first off so checked but it was 100.

flux for windows helps fix this from here https://justgetflux.com/

you can adjust the slider or set timers up, its a bit like blue light mode or dark night just helping your eye health out. Works very well and more easy to adjust with flux also for example you can display it on 2nd monitor or only run it on websites.

The further away you can sit from it the better, wall mounts and installed on the wall helps and so do deep 80cm or more will help greatly imo.

Sounds like its still trying to think its the CX supported only, you may have to uninstall your graphic drivers, reboot the PC and re-install the latest graphic drivers from the website that might adjust itself to install the right settings for the C2 audio output wise, try this but do it while C2 or any other monitors or TVs are switched on. If you just got the C2 then its fine leave that switched on as normal. GPU drivers are weird you have to any device connected for it to detect and install the setup correctly.

You can also go to your old sound control panel settings and under playback it should list LG TV SSCR2, should be that and not CX, you might be able to remove the CX that way it defaults to the LG TV SSCR2 ie C2

Its showing LG TV SSCR2 already but no sound when you click on it.

Will try the graphic drivers next time I'm on the PC.
