LG 42-inch OLED

All of the RS and MD stock has been sold now so had to get one from Peter T via an eBay code at £874. They only have 3 left.

I guess this will drop to £750 by BF anyway.

That's a bummer. Im curious to see what the stats are like since I started using it.

Annadue Replacement Remote Control for LG LCD TV MKJ39170828

£5.69 from Amazon lowest I could find, before you use it use tweezers to pluck out the in stop button, then put batteries in it, hit in start and enter 0413 and check utt: should be on bottom left corner. it will have the number of hours used. Then hit in stop again to come back to normal TV, it comes out anyhow after a few minutes.

There is a bit of scare mongering going on, but you can take pics of each menu so you have the settings backed up. Otherwise as long as you just stick to basics and not play a computer game within the service menu you will be fine.

Morning all,
I'm looking at getting this for video editing, desktop use and a lot of flight sim gaming. I currently have a 2080ti(looking to get a 4000 series before xmas) am I right in thinking that for now I can use it in standard def 60hz refresh till I get a video card that will support hdmi 2.1?

Thanks

I've got an LGC242 arriving on Sunday! Cant wait!

Wife might smash me over the head with it, but I haven't bought a new display in quite some time.
Will only be used for gaming on the PC, also got a HDMI 2.1 cable coming tomorrow, forgot all about that, but spotted a few listed in this thread so cheers for the heads up.

Will be coupled up to a 3090ti now that the prices have dropped :)

Hope it lives up to all the hype I've been picking up on in this thread.

Are there any specific setup guides for the 42C2? or do the C1 vids apply here also?

cheers

To get your started:

Are all the c2 the newer version of screens now?

Still a lotto sadly, there were a few owners that got 42 C2s from July and August that still had the older panel not that it matters.

Not sure about september purchases, its very messy since there is no easy method to make sure what panel you got apart from code matching or if you got a spectro meter that cost an kidney.

Edit: spotted new deal on C2 42 from AO with code LG15 its 849, best price I can see currently.

Have to say absolutely love it!!
Was delivered at 10am, was like a kid at xmas!
Unpacked, cabled up, watched the vids above and now have it dialled in nicely!!
Picked up an MSI RTX 3090 Suprim X at a decent price, couldn't stretch for a 3090ti as well as the new screen.

Nice setup! Especially the mando stuff :D

Is there an easy way to tell what panel I have in my C42?

Purchased on the high street with 5-year warranty. If that narrows it down a bit. Big box shifter. So, hoping with them selling high volume my chances of getting the better panel was higher.

The fourth letter of the second part of the product code (after the dot) on the box should tell you whether it's a WBC or WBE model. IIRC if it's P or W it's the newer WBE panel and if it's Q or Y it's the older WBC panel. Google these to be 100% sure as I'm only recalling from memory.
