LG 42-inch OLED

Its showing LG TV SSCR2 already but no sound when you click on it.

Will try the graphic drivers next time I'm on the PC.

hmm sounds like you are doing everything right, you do have to right click the volume icon bottom right hand corner and select LG TV SSCR 2 for audio which you have done.

It could still be something messed up a bit with the audio, yeah id still go ahead and remove all nvidia or AMD drivers and reboot and reinstall latest drivers it should hopefully reset things. Sounds like a settings issue since you get sound from consoles and tv content so you know the speakers are good on the TV.

Hey all!

I'm seriously considering purchasing an LG C2 as my new PC monitor but I'm unsure which size to go for and would appreciate some advice and/or feedback.

I was initially looking at the 42" but the 48" is the same price and I understand the 48" also has the EX panel (does that make a tangible difference?)

I have a really deep desk and also intend to wall mount the C2 so my head will be approximately 110 CM (43 Inches) from the screen.

Based on this distance would the 48" C2 be advisable over the 42" ?

I would recommend going to a brick and mortar store and just getting a sense of whether it will work for you or not. I have a 50" in house and know for a fact it would be waaaay to big for my desk space which is about 36" away. If youre another foot away I feel that would be where it would start being possible.

Both the 42” and 48” models now use the newer WBE panel, or Evo panel as it’s sometimes called. But That makes no real difference anyway on these smaller models compared to the old WBC panel that the 42” had at launch

More info and context here :) https://tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/lg-oled-42c2#OLED-Evo-WBE-vs-WBC-panels-and-does-it-matter

C2 arrived, much more acceptable on the desk, but as others have stated the text isn't super crisp - obviously much better than the c1 48, but far from a proper LCD. I am going to one of those LG 2 UP displays on the side so I can use that for productivity I think. Much nicer footprint overall than the c1 48 if you were on the fence, and if you do sit relatively close the horrid grid effect of the 48 is gone, and you can enjoy the TV a lot more close than you were previously.

I tried 42.. ended up going 55 inch curved with an C6 for now. I tried out 3D on it and its just a bit too incredible to miss out on.
However in return I don't have 120hz, gsync.

Miught change it when I get bored of 3D.

Gutted 3d went out of fashion, LCD just wasn't fast enough, too much ghosting and heavy glasses that need charging. Oled with passive glasses is great. Wish 3d vision was still around as some games really blew my mind. Kept my c6 for 3d use and hope it lasts for many more years.

No chance you want to sell your C6 to me mate?
I'm hunting for a couple lol.

£859 quid from martin dawes with free delivery and 5 year warranty with BANK90 code, they have Bank100 also for £100 saving on TVs over 1.3k

I think that is the cheapest I have spotted it.

It’s the B model though so others won’t price match. It has a white rear case and possibly a different stand. I’m ordering one tonight so will update when it comes on Weds.

I called up and they’ve thrown in free DPD next day for me too

Not surprised they won't price match, it's very much a different TV!

What else is different?
The actual hardware i.e. the CPU and board config. I don't have specifics but it could be RAM, it will certainly be OS performance and image processing..

I don't know how they handle panel assignment but if there's any kind of binning process, you could reasonably expect B to get lesser panels to C. And possibly even A to get lesser panels than B.
