What I said was right about the 1080TI I wasn't talk about DP port nor did I mention it, when I replied I was talking about HDMI and as you know with C9/CX there is only HDMI ports on the OLED The option to enable G-sync is absent from the control panel when you plug in a HDMI cable, so a 1080TI is limited to just DP also 18gbps 2.0a/b HDMI 8bit but can still run and OLED CX/C1 @4K 120hz 4.2.0 (you won't do a consistent 120hz in all games) and without VRR & G-sync only an RTX3080/90 2.1 HDMI can, also you are limited again with the RTX2080TI it have the same 2.0a/b HDMI port
How long have you been around computers to ask that question! Everyone knows the 1080TI didn't have G-sync, but I still can have 120hz @4k on my GPU and OLED Like I said - I rather have the best OLED monitor on the market than have a powerful GPU for only 1080p LCD gaming!
Anyone have a guide on how to set a ultra widescreen resolution for games? is there a way that will launch the game like that then switch back to native resolution when on desktop?
Pretty easy using CRU
It retains HDR 10 bit 120hz at 3840 x 1600 and works great on my C1
It keeps VRR also
You just use set the resolution in the extended block section of the program using Display 1.3 and set 120Hz. Set display scaling to none.
You can set a custom resolution in NV control panel however this way will not support 10 Bit HDR.
You need to disable extending the image on the display itself. If C1, just hit the cog button on the remote for a while, then go to Picture - Aspect Ratio - Originalwhen I change to the custom resolution the screen squashes horizontally and still fills the whole display? must be doing something wrong
I did that and went to the nVidia control panel -> Adjust desktop size and position -> scaling -> no scaling. You need to disable extending the image on the display itself. If C1, just hit the cog button on the remote for a while, then go to Picture - Aspect Ratio - Original

Make sure you change the setting so that scaling is done on the 'GPU' instead of on the 'Display' (the default). It should then work.thanks for this, I did set a custom resolution in NV control panel, when I change to it on the dektop it works with the black bars top and bottom, but in game (tried cyberpunk and valhalla) when I change to the custom resolution the screen squashes horizontally and still fills the whole display? must be doing something wrong
So apparently 3840x1836 is a thing.
Any idea why 3840x1836 didn't work as a custom resolution? Anybody tried that yet?
Which values have you set for OLED light? And Logo shift? HDR turned off?Think I'm gonna have to return the TV, the ABL is pretty aggressive for the types of games I'm playing. Very noticeable in certain courses in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Sunshine Airport, Excitebike Arena)

So I've had a 48 C1 on my desk for a couple of weeks.
Bad things
Too big at desktop productivity or kb mouse gaming distance.
ABL is distracting on the desktop. Open a window with a white background and the dimming is noticeable.
Very glossy. Need to dim the lights or wear some clothes.
Risk of burn in.
Poor peak brightness in large areas in HDR mode compared to my HDR 1000 VA panel.
Stand needs height / tilt.
Good things
Ideal size for sitting back with a gamepad, I'm at about 48".
Great for graphics apps. I'm using a grey on grey colour scheme and it's replaced a 43" and a 24" in portrait mode for libraries. No sign of image retention let alone burn in.
Very glossy, colours really pop. I can sometimes see how beautiful I am.
Not noticed any flicker or ABL weirdness while gaming in HDR mode. The highlights are plenty bright in HGIG mode and the shadow detail is fantastic. OLED kicks the arse of my edge lit monitor which is a greyed out bloom fest.
For the price I do't think you could beat one for gaming or streaming movies or watching HDR blurays. As a monitor it's not optimal for most people.
It fits my gaming habits to be honest. I play a lot of 3rd person, story based games and RPG's which means I can recline and use a controller. I've had a few rounds on FPS games with the M and K though and it was better than I thought it would be. Still the best panel I've ever used and I love it so much I ditched the Samsung QLED downstairs and bought the CX55 for my PS5 instead.
Around 80 for OLED light and contrast is set to 85. Pixel shift is on, logo luminance off, hdr off.Which values have you set for OLED light? And Logo shift? HDR turned off?
ABL is pretty bullsh*t IMHO but I can't experience it myself yet and I mostly only play GTA and The Crew 2 and for content I have netflix. Hopefully LG will reduce or give us the option to completely turn off ABL bs.
I honestly do not get why you would even though you *could* do it.
With the native resolution you have the best of both worlds. You have the length of an ultrawide but the added height to fill the rest of your vision as well. Ive had a 34 inch ultrawide and enjoy this so much more.
If you *were* to do it though , the OLEDs blacks mean the bars at the top and the bottom are completely black though which is nice.
