DTS Pass through works on C9 weird it would have been removed on CX.

I sold my B6 on the forum. Tbh other than the size of the C9 the picture is no better I got a good deal on the C9 but upgrading has offered nothing more than a size increase. When new Xbox comes out hopefully will see some benefits.

Tbh if the C9 is £500 cheaper I would go with that the CX does not offer a huge deal more other than extra processing which tbh I turn it all off anyway. You could get a C9 and Series X for the cost of the CX....

I think the DTS thing is some licensing rubbish, or they just wanted to save some pennies. I don't know I think I will just go for the CX, some who have moved from E6 to CX have said they are amazed by the difference in PQ, especially improvement in shadow detail and HDR performance, but likely placebo effect.

I might think about selling my B6 on forum, did you get it collected or get a courier service to deliver it, if so who did you use?

Can’t say I have noticed anything much different from B6. It’s a tad brighter with HDR but nothing mind blowing. PQ seems similar no stand out differences I have noticed maybe my B6 was a good one or maybe the CX is a lot better. The size difference is noticeable 65” is a great size for a tv although I would not want any bigger....

The buyer collected it would not have posted it would have been a nightmare.

Yeah I think a courier would be expensive and risky.

or, they don't have spare processor power/bandwidth to allow pass through, it's better if they have allocated processor power to improved decoding/algorithms on low bitarate sources, for example;
besides, don't folks wanting higher end sound, have an avr, stripping that off from the source 4k player, and,
if you are using an onboard tv, player app, dts material would generally be pirated 4k stuff, since netflix etc don't provide it. - no ?
 
Took delivery of my C9 yesterday, this has replaced a 2013 50" LG Plasma. I was expecting good things, but damn, this thing just blows me away. I have since painted the cable cover so it's less obvious but I really wish I'd re-routed the centre speaker cable as that's the only cable in there, the rest of the cables for the TV go through the wall to a cupboard under the stairs.

Definitely going to end up watching a lot more films again now, I lost the love for it over the years.

Unlikely, hasn’t the CX got a more powerful processor than the C9. It’s talked about a lot on another forum, there is no mention of processor being an issue. Anyway I just mentioned it, it doesn’t effect me as like you said I use Apple TV box with Netflix and that’s Dolby and my oppo203 can split the audio, if I decide to connect direct to TV. Haven’t got an eArc receiver yet anyway.

I have my Xbox X connected direct to my B6 So it has separate game mode picture settings, no idea what sound I get down arc, I’m guessing just stereo, sounds ok though, never been that fussed with the quality of sound for gaming.
 
It depends what you have your Xbox set to output. If it’s PCM it will be 2 channel. I have mine set to bitstream DTS and I then get 5.1 through arc from the tv. Sounds fine to me....

At the price of these now I'm very tempted to update my 60" KURO

It's definitely a C9, it says so on the box :p It's just part of the picture frame it was displaying at the time.

Yeah over the moon with it. Even Sky HD content looks so much better. But some proper 4k HDR is simply superb. The size increase is perfect too, feels like just the right size.

I'm not upset about not having the CX either, I don't think I'm going to be missing out on anything important.
