LG c9 OLED

Limited to what I can do with little fingers around unfortunately. Can't pull the speakers forward either else the doors open on them.

with children, do wonder about accidental oled damage on house insurance ... pity that's not part of rs/lewis warranty.
is that a a roseland furniture tv unit ... google suggests to me - smart

I hadn't realised simpsons isn't in 4k. (don't know if they have done 4k transfers of older cartoons, though T&J, roadrunner, penelope .. not justified ?)

The seemingly endless confusion surrounding the specifications of HDMI 2.1 connections has struck again. And this time the source of the confusion is the one brand that had previously declared itself above the whole HDMI 2.1 mess: LG Electronics.

LG has contacted me today to say that contrary to initial communications, and in a turn around from the HDMI 2.1 situation introduced with its 2019 4K TVs, none of its 2020 4K TVs, OLED or LCD, will carry ‘full bandwidth’ HDMI ports capable of handling HDMI 2.1’s maximum 48Gbps data rate.

The 48Gbps rate is required to handle uncompressed 12-bit 4K at 120Hz with RGB 4:4:4 chroma sampling. LG tells me now, though, that while the HDMIs on its premium 2019 TVs were indeed full 48Gbps examples, all four HDMIs on the WX, GX and CX OLED TVs will instead handle 10-bit (rather than 12-bit) 4K at 120Hz with RGB 4:4:4 chroma sampling. This implies a likely 40Gbps data rate.

She's pretty good at keeping away from the TV stuff now. She's 7 but has downs syndrome so sometimes excitement overcomes everything else to point at Mr Tumble on the TV a bit too closely! But it's very rare now. I can say I'm glad my old TV had a nice tough glass front though!

Yeah it's a pity the likes of Simpsons and Family Guy aren't in 4k, the colours still look spectacular though.

I don't think it is Roseland, the wife bought it so I have no idea where it was from. I don't think it was that much money though.

I read that and part way through I thought what difference does it make with a 10 bit screen anyway, not sure what 12 sources there are at 4k 120hz currently.

All Dolby Vision? It should still help with banding, technically, but yeah it's not gonna matter much I don't think. Just a weird decision.

It's WebOS 5.0 I believe on the new ones and the apps need to be certified before they can add them to the store. It shouldn't take too long but who knows with the current situation.

checks back - that was a 65 .... a 77 would definitely need child+adult protection.

a 77" seems to be a meter high , so if you were going for eyes in the centre that would be just 50cm off of the ground, which does sound a bit low....
there must be a different 'rule' with such a screen.

I think whatever is comfortable is best! We have reclining sofas and normally have them reclined while watching TV so naturally my line of sight is higher than sitting. Also with my feet up, the bottom of the TV just clears them which is ideal.
