LG CX (C10) OLED 2020 Thread

Currently on to JL about a blue tint across the whole screen that's manifested itself over the last week or so. Really noticeable lack of vibrancy with the colours, all the usual troubleshooting tips followed to no avail.

Anyone experienced the same symptoms? I had a back light failure on an old LG but that it only affected part of the screen though the colours are strikingly similar

You know when you start the TV and sometimes it displays messages in white at the top right of the screen. Like the one advertising 3 months of Apple TV for free?

Is there any way to read those messages later? I couldn't find any message box or anything like that.

I think they're in the Notifications section of the Support Menu option.

I’m comparing my iPhone 13 Pro screen vs lg cx. Even on YouTube I’m watching say “John wick hdr scene” and same on my tv, the iPhone is leagues better with highlights and shadow details.

I’m using my cx with pc, madvr on proper hdr settings, tv brightness full, peak brightness full, black level auto, full HDMI 2.1 output, Nvidia 12 bit full, the movie is a high quality hdr version.

Oled 100
Contrast 100
Brightness 50
Dtm high (or even off still doesn’t get the same)
Dynamic contrast low or high
Black level auto

Is there anything I’m missing to get similar quality as the iPhone because it looks superior like a jump from led to oled.

What you are missing is a proper calibration (Either professionally or yourself using LG Calman + Colourimeter). It can make a massive difference but that is $ you might not want/have to spend.

This could be a compression / bit rate issue.

Check things like refresh rate, resolution, colour but depth and colour space settings

I've tried everything to stop them, the only way is to turn off the TVs internet connection. It's the only reason I'm hesitant to buy another LG tv.
Doesn't really bother me tbh, they flash up when it starts up and them I never see them again.

Anyone still running the CX ? How is it holding up against Screen burn? Had mine 4 years and 6 months and over the past week have noticed a Sky logo and generally a darker line along the bottom of the screen which i think was from Sky News but not like I have it on for hours on end so actually surprised it's burnt in .. I use it for PC more than general TV viewing yet it's burnt from watching TV  Luckily when I purchased it I specifically got it from John Lewis and got the protect plus which covers for screen burn for upto 5 years... been on the phone to them and they are booking a technician to come round and replace the screen with a new one :D Thank God I got that cover as either would have had to live with it which would be annoying as hell considering i now can't not noticed it or would have had to lay out for a new 77" panel or alternatively buy a new set neither are things I want to particularly do at the minute

Have you tried panel refresh first?

My CX is still boxed up from moving house :o I kept intending to upgrade with something from work but haven't yet.
Yeah tried pixel refresh twice since I noticed it on the weekend and unfortunately hasn't removed it :( when I'm gaming etc it's impossible to notice its burnt in but will notice it when it's just one colour displayed on the screen or that bottom section atleast. Apart from it being burnt in i have been very happy with the TV which is why I have kept it and used it daily for nearly 5 years ... funny prior to noticing this i was eyeing up a G5 replacement as it now supports 165hz and panel technology has moved on quite a bit in these 5 years with regards to oled brightness etc but that comes at a heft price tag at £4500  new screen will do for the minute:cry:

The one here is still pristine, no dead pixels, no burn in. We do use it as a PC display, but that PC is usually remoted in, rather than used directly. So usually not used for display high brightness, etc stuff. Normally used for the occasional news and for the occasional movie in UHD+HDR/Dolby Vision so it would hit higher brightness then, but the changing scenese means we're not worried about a particular spot on the burning in more than the rest.

Yeah still have mine from 2020 launch. Still going strong.

I don't particularly consider a TV Ive owned for about 4 1/2 years old though, despite how many editions have released since.
