LG OLED 2022 Thread - A2, B2, C2, G2

Burn in really isn’t something to worry about, I don’t baby my C9 at all and it’s still has no issues.

Definitely wouldn’t be putting up with any backlight issues, blooming, the fact most mini led sets disable or reduce dimming zones in gaming mode.
Isn’t there a whole thread regarding burn issues on this forum.

sure and if you read it the sets that have burn in are older sets from 2016 or earlier, you rarely if ever see burn in on the modern sets.

Plus I’d still rather pay £1000 every 5 years and get the OLED benefits over the downsides of dimming zones.

Had my C9 for 3 years now. The picture is still as gorgeous as ever and no burn in here either.

Seems to me the burn in worry is similar to worrying about SSD drives having a finite number of read/writes before they wear..
On modern stuff it's just a theoretical issue for the average user.

Is it the Oled Evo line with the 5 year burn in warranty as standard and has the foil to help out with cooling?

I have 55 C6 which I believe is 2016. It has noticeable dark areas on certain test screens (in the bedroom)

I also have 65 C8 (cant remember if I got it EOL 2018) Youtube logo burnt in and darker in the middle. This TV I believe has the larger red pixels to help out with the wear.

This is what puts me off buying an oled tv.

Nature of the product. I was eyeing up a Samsung Neo QLED's but they just refuse to go pay the Dolby Vison license hah

Have really enjoyed the TV I wont lie. Tv was £2700 when I purchased it which is a bitter pill to swallow.

Also just spotted it's only the G and up that come with the 5 year panel warranty But I do believe the C evo has the foil to help cooling and the better brightness.

It's the MLA tech, wowzers 2100 nits peak on a LG OLED

LG probably gonna charge a big premium for the G series

Holy hell, you guys need to check out a program called : Color Control . 8.2.0.0 for windows 10/11 : https://github.com/Maassoft/ColorControl
you can do a help of a lot of customization with this program
and a lot of stuff has been added for LG OLED TV`s where by for instance... you can force stuff thats greyed out on lg tv`s in picture settings ect ect and calibration ect ect...
also has a awesome feature where you can make the tv turn off when you turn of your pc or turn on when you turn on your pc or make the tv go off when entering standby ect ect lots of features...

and if you want to get even more technical though i wouldnt advise it you can also get into the OLED tv`s service menu using it....

it even has a great feature that i used to get rid of dithering issues in videos, yo can select different dithering options for instance,,,,

go watch a netflix program called the recruit and put it on season 1 episode 2 at round 20.24-25.24 make sure you use the native tv`s netflix app and look at the back ground walls when there all talking around the desk.... the default setting in windows to use for instance well for me was : Bitdepth 8 with spatial dynamic, but if you change it to 6bit-temporal the issue with the what looks like banding or dithering on the wall vanishes and everything is crystal clear...

anyway there are lots you can do with this program, also it has built in nvidia inspector and game modes you can add aswell

-------------------------------------------------------

anyway another great awesome program i have found for people is a program called : Auto Actions : https://github.com/Codectory/AutoActions/releases/tag/1.9.19
this program can be used to launch programs and windows apps into what ever mode you want for instance,

you can launch a game with what ever resolution and refresh rate by adding it to the program and if its hdr compatible you can add HDR tick to the program and when ever you launch that program it will launch in what ever resolution you chosen aswell as activating HDR and you can set the program to deativate and change resolution back to normal after the game closes down....
you and do other things with the program also, i use this program cause sometimes the auto hdr launcher in windows 11 will only enable hdr for some games and not others so this program does it for you all the time on what ever game requires it you just add it and presto, it also works with apps and windows apps so for instance you can add the built in windows netflix app to it so when it launches it activates hdr on the tv and deactivates when closed :) :)

Both programs are Free to use.. anyway those are my top 2 programs for people with LG OLED`s with using them with PC ;)

The 70% refers to when compared to B series oled. What a stupid comparison. Just give us the the bloody numbers LG or at least compare it to last years G instead of massaging the numbers.
Considering that's a statement about the G3's additional hardware it seems pretty fair to talk about by itself...

Does this part not help?

Z3 (8K) should reach up to a maximum of 1350 nits (Vivid) while C3 and B3 remain largely unchanged compared to last year's C2 and B2 in terms of brightness

The C3 is actually 20% brighter on average (same peak as before) so yeah just give us the raw numbers instead of messing about with half the story/facts.

And LG... stop quoting Vivid numbers. Who is that useful to? Quote calibrated figures to ensure an even playing field between OEMs.
