LG OLED 2024 thread - A4, B4, C4, G4

Got my 48" C4 today and must say I'm impressed so far. I've done some of the tweaks from Rtings and so far so good. One thing I can't seem to do is control my Humax STB with the magic remote. I can move channels up & down but can't find a button for showing the EPG or recordings. I used a Harmony One with my previous telly but the C4 is not in their database so not sure what to do next. I don't really want to go back to having several remotes around me again.

Assuming Harmony does infrared, LG have used the same codes for 10+ years. Use a C3 profile if it exists :)

Having a good programmable remote is brilliant. My remote replaces 14 remotes. With all macros set so power on/off and discrete inputs where needed.

Maybe look for a new programmable remote?

LG G4 wins TV of the year, Sony gets dethroned
Sony could not even manage 2nd place this year, something went wrong there and they dropped down to 3rd spot

Well the A95L was a 2023 TV and many had it as best TV last year, Sony didnt even release a new top end OLED in 2024, their flagship this year is mini led.

Not sure, I ordered a C3 in June and it came with 5 year warranty. As for how good it is. Mine had pretty bad vertical banding issues which I didn't report to them within the first 30 days as I was on holiday which made things more complex as its a straight swap for a faulty TV. After that 30 day window, they have to try and fix it 3 times before they will replace. To be fair, they tried to replace pretty much everything (panel, boards, power board) but it still had the banding issue. Unfortunately they had no more 83" C3s so I had to go down the refund route which has been a right pain in the arse and has taken weeks/months and is still ongoing. TV is supposed to be collected on the 25th of November and then I should expect my refund within 28 days. They are normally really good, my 6 year old 65" OLED got burn in around last Christmas and they replaced the whole panel for a couple of hundred quid. But this experience has put me off getting another LG.

Got a c4 48” coming soon £978 with 6 year warranty, going to replace the Sony W905 46” in the living room, which is still holding up very well for its age, but wanted 4K/hdr and better all round smart features/apps, think the w905 has apps but never used them all looks quite clunky on the Sony as it uses some old Sony entertainment OS.

Just wanted to add into this thread, got my first OLED this year an LG G4 65". Old TV failed 4.5 years into a 5 year warranty (how lucky am I :D) so had a nice chunk off a new TV so thought why not go all out. LG G4 is amazing, the only downside is that now i want an OLED monitor! Watching films on an OLED is spectacular, best upgrade since getting a proper surround sound system.

Got that discount recently on the G4 77" man.. wall mounting in an old house was a pain. The inbox mount did not mount well as my wall has a slight angle. Ended up having an installer come and mount it in the end. Crikey it is so darn bright! I upgraded form a CX 65" and it is a very nice upgrade. I do have a C2 42" as a monitor, but really happy with the look of the G4. Bar the mounting issues I am liking it. I did add it to my home insurance as a named item just incase...

PS: If you are going to wall mount make sure all your HDMI's are much longer :P

Anyone know if the network ports on the C4 is still capped at 100mbps?

I know it likely doesn't make any odds if just streaming from Netflix, BBCiplayer and the likes, just curious.

Got my C4 48" last week and it's a massive step up from my LED Panasonic. Managed to snag it for £950 delivered from RS which I though was a good price, just hope they don't have any more money off on BF!

Also sorted out my Harmony One remote so all working great now. I've got a Beam 2 and the sound is so much better now it's utilising the eARC connection, might have to buy a mini sub now. The icing on the cake is that even my wife loves the picture and sound and she's bloody hard to please :)
