LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Yeah it seems silly that LG couldn't fix this. IM lucky that I only have bleed at the bottom as that seems like the only part of the bezel that you can easily unclip.
Its safe to say after owning three of these that's none are going to be completely uniform. My first was still the best of the bunch but since I was able to unclip the bezel at the bottom this one comes close.

Also mrk....I presume it means I have a naturally brighter panel than my last 2 when it calibrates to 7 brightness compared to 15 that it went to on the last 2 I had.
I wouldn't have thought they could be that varied but I guess they can.
This one seemed to calibrate a little better to on gamma. 2.21 instead of 2.22 on my old ones.

Received my calibrator today. Left the monitor on for a few hours to make sure it was warm before using it.

I was using the 'cinema' preset before with a fairly reasonable brightness level, so the differences aren't as striking as they otherwise could have been, but it's definitely an improvement. Especially in darker areas of images, and in the overall colour of the picture.

Would have been a bit miffed if I'd have spent £100+ on a calibrator for this result, but for £30 I'm pleased.

Yeah it does the job and costs very little. Considering what you get as a package it's worth every penny really.

That deviation is so small it's not even worth worrying about really. Every panel will have different luminance measurements at the same brightness setting in the OSD. you will find that after 2 months the brightness it chooses during calibration will be different again. Depending on how the components age and settle in the brightness could increase or decrease.

As long as the deviation isn't above 1% I think we can call this a win win in all regards :p

Besides the bleed issues these monitors have, LG are on to an absolutely winner for image quality, and the little calibrator of these is damn fine for the price.

Still mind boggling how they never managed to fix the plastic bezel that causes to much bleed issues for some.

Here is my third monitor on my normal calibrated brightness setting.
I unclipped the bezel in the corners where the bleed was at its worst and you can see what its like now..It made a huge difference as I have no bleed at all on the top, it was mostly at the bottom and in the corners and after unclipping the bezel im very happy with it now.

Being that the bezel does square root of **** all anyway, I took it off entirely. Significantly reduced the bleed I had down there.

Still have a small amount, but it's pretty much unnoticeable. Especially now it's calibrated, I'm no longer cranking the brightness to look at it.

Got a picture of the whole monitor to see what it looks like without bezel please.

Just loosed the bottom trim on my LG monitor, don't use a knife or any metal object use a credit card, I used a Nectar card as its a bit thinner, BIG BIG word of warning when doing this. The screen edge connectors are down there you don't want to go anywhere near them, if you damage them, your screens knackered and wont be covered under guarantee.
I'll see what it like tonight and will post a pic

I didn't mean the entire monitor, I've just removed the black plastic strip clipped on at the bottom. The rest of it is intact, I have nowhere near the skill or bravery required to risk trying to remove the entire panel from its mount.
