LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

I had the chance to buy brand new at £664, didn't bother! I still think it's over priced to be honest. Especially if the AOC appears in the new year at ~£500

It's priced just right. The AOC doesn't have TB or a hardware LUT hence why it costs less. Put both into the AOC and the price gap would be minimal. You can't call something that has more and thus costs more "overpriced" :p

whats that in non acronym speech?

thinking of getting one of these any major games have issues with them?

and do they all have bleed?

any other issues just really dont fancy wading though 30 pages of thread?

TB is Thunderbolt, LUT is hardware calibration onboard.

They all have varying levels of bleed, some very low some very high. Just swap out the high ones I guess.

As for major games, only The Evil Within seems to be causing grief for 21:9 owners so far, everything else seems to work fine out of the box or flawless widescreen sorts it.

I may Add that the Evolve Alpha does not have 21:9 support yet.

If you select 2560x1080, or 3440x1440 it'll just pan and scan the image and still show the 1080p one. Meaning everything on the sides, and top are cut off.

Then again that's an Alpha, and like mrk said there are very few games that have Issues.
The main ones are Blizzard's games, where they seem to have a thing against ultra wide and large FOVs.

is it worth waiting for the dell then?

gonna be rebuilding the pc too for the first time in years might just put money aside over next two months and buy and build during the new years sales

What personal experience, or evidence, do you have to suggest that QC and CS with Dell are superior?
Personally, I've had difficult dealings with LG in the past due to a defective product. Dell, however, are MUCH easier to deal with and their swap out policy for monitors is second to none (again something I've had experience of). Anyone will tell you that though, they're well known for it. My own experience aside though, you just need to look at all the bleed issues people are having with the LG monitors at the moment... on a prestige top of the range product as well! This is totally unacceptable and by and large it seems to be down to how they've assembled the things with too much pressure around the edges of the screens. This should NOT be getting past QC, and I've not seen this from other manufacturers using the same panels (although they are the only ones with the 34" 21:9 right now). All panels can suffer from some bleed, but some of the LG's lately have been shocking. I've no idea how they've left the factory like that, unless something is happening in transit.
