I could go 28" 4K and see a nice PPI boost
Until Windows sorts out it's scaling - 4K monitors aren't that appealing IMO.
I could go 28" 4K and see a nice PPI boost
Some stats from comparing screen sizes and resolution:
16:9 27" 1080p - W=23.53", H=13.24", PPI=81.59, megapixels=2.07
16:10 30" 1600p (my Dell 3007) - W=25.44", H=15.9", PPI=100.63, megapixels=4.09
21:9 34" (LG UM95, 3440x1440) - W=31.25", H=13.4", PPI=110, megapixels=4.95
16:9 28" (2160p 4K) - W=24.4", H=13.73", PPI=157.35, megapixels=8.29
So coming from a 30" Dell to a 34" UM95 I've gained 5.81" width, lost 2.5" height and don't have significantly more PPI. So I'm looking at it from the point of view that I could go 28" 4K and see a nice PPI boost but put up with lower PQ and slightly smaller screen but in a more appealing aspect ratio. It's a tricky one
So uhm.. It didn't come with a British plug.
Says free delivery now on the um95! Does that mean I get free delivery now? Also has an eta for today. Let's hope so.
Is delivery from OCUK not always free? Of course I wouldn't know this being from Northern Ireland and have always had to pay through the nose for delivery and it doesn't even get it here any faster! Even with the "Free Delivery" promo when I go basket it's still charging me £10.
But you're right, at least there's an ETA now...
I've not seen either in person but as yours is 1080 high as is the 29" you will probably appreciate the aspect ratio improvement like I did going from 27" 1440P to this. Especially in games/movies!
^I've watched youtube videos that are 21:9 no problems. There are quite a few from trailers to short movies.
Can you link some here please. All Ive found are one in 720p, riddled with black bars.
Plus the fact that the monitor support Thunderbolt, means It'll fit my mac pro really well.
I will when I get home, my work screens are not 21:9
Thing with trailers is you will find multiple versions of the same trailer, one with native 21:9, one without... Wish they were all natively 21:9!
