LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Yeah hopefully LG will take it and completely remove the bleed and fix that dead pixel!

Can't say I have noticed that effect on mine yet..... Have my setting set to "high"

Mine is certainly not as bad as Nexus' screen but I'll be honest, this is not what I'd expect from such an expensive piece of kit.

Seems kind of pointless having high contrast ratios for decent blacks when a large percentage of your screen will bleed an orange glow.

That a manufacturer even released this baffles me, think I'll give LG a wide birth from now on, sending it back seems I will probably receive a reconditioned screen most likely with dead pixels.

Will wait to see what the ultimate resolution is for both of you (nexus and mrk).

Just got a chance to get mine in the dark. I'm happy enough with the bleed and/or IPS glow - this is 50% brightness with quite a long exposure on the camera as otherwise I couldn't see anything. TBF I never even noticed the bleed at all until I took the photo. On dark scenes with the naked eye it's non-existent

Just remembered dead pixels can't be fixed so I think LG would offer a replacement monitor or just repair the back light bleed, if that is the case, I will probably take the latter option as the dead pixel is only noticeable on uniform colours so doesn't bother me too much tbh.

So this is the look of my monitor on black. Bit of glow but its not that noticeable.

This is the 29" one? That glow is fine for me, I think it looks visible due to the screen size more than anything.

On my teeny 23" I can only see something similar when I look at it around 150-160 degrees.

I'm still so excited for the 34" to arrive, I'm hoping LG have sorted all the issues but then.
These things are so rare, and always seem to sell out, so there's obviously demand for them. I think that Linus tech tips video really helped push it for PC gamers, despite it being aimed at productivity folks.

The reseller scum at the rainforrest have gone and charged my card, despite having cancelled my order, and confirming so through the rainforrest contact system.

I've contacted them again through it, unless it's all sorted by tomorrow I'm filing a claim through rainforrest and getting the bank to do a charge back.

Refuse/reject delivery @ your door if they ship it.

I sent a webnote to OcUK to cancel as well, somehow the buggers in Germany managed to take money despite me having set a maximum of €100 overdraft, and having spent the money I put into it at OcUK for the preorder.

So they've gone and mangled my card somehow, and cancelling from OcUK will at least alleviate any massive fines the bank might impose.

Can't believe this hassle.

EDIT: Got off the phone with the rainforrest, says they’re siding with me, and they’re contacting the reseller now on my behalf. They have until wednesday to respond to the inquiry or the rainforrest will be doing a refund charge to my card, and investigating for potential fraud.

Edit: now that the forrest got involved the reseller suddenly sent me this.
We apologise for the inconviniences. A cancellation has never been confirmed from our side. We had send your email to the responsible department, but unfortunately a cancellation wasn´t possible anymore.
Your credit Card hasn´t been charged by us. We are just the supplier.

What the hell is this bs?! Called the forrest again, and they're now filing a claim to see what's going on although it can take up to 2 months to sort through this. :/

Lesson learnt, never order from a reseller. What a bloody mess.

OCUK have 8 x UM65 in stock now but they want delivery on top of a higher price than elsewhere

Sorry OCUK :( I just bought my UM65 £24 cheaper & with a faster delivery service & hassle free no questions asked free RMA collection if I need to reject it!

Resellers are notorious for refunds I had similar hassle with a chair they said was a luxury padded office chair last year it was neither & took me weeks to get them to collect it as the couriers CBA to pick up heavy items its a low priority to them. Resellers are a big no no for expensive items ;)

Yeah, never again. They had the gall to go and say this on their feedback page as well after I wrote how they charged my card after cancelling my order.

"As you know we´ve never confirmed the cancellation. We´ve told you that a cancellation wasn´t possible anymore"

They never emailed me, once. The only email I have is them saying they've confirmed the cancellation, and it's the reason Amazon are now investigating.

All this over a monitor shortage, and "finding" stock to buy. :(

Even first parties are prone to being berks. Lightpack still haven't refunded me after their 2nd partial refund offer. I've declined all their offers and demanded full refund as I've decided I'm sticking to my guns. PayPal have sided with me it seems and I've submitted tracking details to the case so once PayPal have followed up I should be getting my money back as Lightpack team have not responded as of yet since their last offer.

Lightpack LED lightong = Crap with crap after sales service. Save your money and sanity folks.
