Looks like things are being pushed through various channels with my case:

Thanks for that so it doesn't seem like DELL would be much better then....
Although as you can see, mine is noticeable during "normal" conditions.
Yup, it would have been without a doubt easier doing the DSR but at the time I was set on getting another RMA.
Not too sure what happened but Bailey was sick the day after it had been arranged. If DPD don't collect it tomorrow then I will take this further and return it under DSR.
Anyway, ocuk have got back to me and have put in their notes that I be refunded for the monitor.
So assuming it gets collected tomorrow, I won't know anything till Monday/Tuesday probably....
^^ Are you sure as this is for a PSU that is a lot cheaper than elsewhere but not in stock (new and never has been so far/not sold out).
"Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we'll deliver when available. We'll e-mail you with an estimated delivery date as soon as we have more information. Your credit card will not be charged until we ship the item."
Positive OCUK charge upfront if you pre-order. The rain forest are not stocking these again but loads of marketplace resellers are I doubt they have actual stock though once they get your money they try & source one then find out it has to come from germany & there is a holdup still so they keep you hanging on for weeks.
That AOC price was leaked by an employee of AOC last week the US price is $800 EU=€700. No-one has the AOC yet its not available for another 1-2 months but the price is set to be much lower than LG as it comes with slightly less features & is aimed @ PC only not PC/MAC.

Yeah I just really want to get a good one of these as I LOVE the monitor and there isn't anything else out there that meets the same requirements as this one
If the 3rd isn't any better then it is definetly a refund and I will go with the 29EB93 and see how it is.....
My DELL U2713HM had awful backlight bleed. I submitted a request straight to them - bypassing OCUK - and DELL swapped it. I know DELL have that clause but if the panel is known to have issues, they simply sort it. I read loads of forum posts about the panel revision A01. I have never had a problem with DELL tbh
So as a percentage of those who bought the 34UM95, how many have suffered backlight bleed?
I've been using the 29EB93-P for a week now and I have to say it's been better than I expected. I never even considered using or testing out a 2560x1080 ultra wide but since my 34UM95 is away being repaired I thought why not.
A few things I've noticed:
1) The calibrated colours are near enough the same as the 34UM95 although I have noticed the grey balance is slightly different, it feels vibrant on this screen vs the 34UM95. I would say the 34UM95 "feels" more accurate although the final calibration screen shows similar deviation values from my chosen targets.
2) 1080 vertical resolution is not as bad as I thought it would be. It's not as spacious as the 1440 of the 34UM95 of course but it's perfectly usable still and the pixel pitch is just right for reading text from a distance.
3) The hardware LUT once again is handy. Same software, same process, it just works.
4) The 34UM95 feels like it offers a slightly increased FOV in games over this 29". I don't know if it's a placebo or not because the bigger screen with higher resolution can give the illusion of seeing more. Games feel more substantial on the 34" at 3440x1440 is the gist of it and it feels like there's more on screen on it too even if there may not be.
5) The power brick of the 29EB93 does have an ambient hum when the screen is in standby mode. I don't think most people would hear this though but I tend to hear these things.
6) The joystick controlled OSD of the 34UM95 is much nicer to use. I can't ever get used to buttons again.
7) The casing of the 34UM95 feels way more solid. I mentioned that the 34 felt like one piece from how well built it was. The 29EB93 is all plastic and the back is glossy black whereas all matte on the front. I like the front bezel strip being matte and brushed on this more than the glossy strip on the 34UM95. Sort it out LG...
8) IPS glow is just fine and inline with other IPS screens even after a week of solid use. There doesn't appear to be any backlight bleed and no increase since day 1. It is a different panel to the 34" though so I wasn't expecting any similarities here. The orange IPS glow is less pronounced than on the 34UM95. It is there but not as in your face.
I think I might keep it. it's a perfectly usable display for media and gaming and may well be suited to the spare PC but I'll see what happens. I might still sell it on as it would be too late to get a refund by the time my 34UM95 comes back. I've only just taken out the panel with everything else still in the box wrapped. I suppose one factor in getting a decent price back for it would be that it would come freshly calibrated and since it has an on-board LUT the new buyer need not faff with colour profiles or anything

^WONKY ENERGY STAR STICKER!
@Vimes - Thanks! I have noted to LG via email that I am less than impressed by their "warranty" and that something should be done about it. I have pressed that I want an exchange with a new monitor if mine cannot be repaired in a timely fashion. Computeruniverse have a 3-4 week lead time now for the UM95 so looks like they are seeing stock issues too and LG are definitely doing something behind the scenes so whatever happens it is LG that needs to supply a replacement screen. If it doesn't happen soon enough to satisfy what they call a warranty then I'm taking to social networks until it gets sorted or I am compensated.
I do believe Linus or someone said something about the bigger effect of the screensize. I bet these monitors need to be viewed because i sent my AOC back within minutes and never even bothered.
But ironically my favourite videos on Youtube are of the 29" Ultrawide playing Apache in BF4 and there is no restriction at all in the actual video. Infact i enjoy watching it immensely. Now they are torturing me with a price drop of £50 as you can now get the MX299Q for £350! Not sure what to do here did you test 75hz out by chance? If you can afford both i would game on the 29" and play mmo's on the 34". It would be a pretty awesome yet expensive monitor collection.
If I had the deskspace then I'd keep both I guess, it's a nice setup and the LG calibration software utilises them both seamlessly.
I did go away from dual screens to get one massive single ultrawide though and I intend to stick to that for some time yet
How do I check to see if the 75Hz "overclocked" refresh rate is actually working? I've added it in nVidia control panel and it's applied and running fine in Windows. The 29EB93's OSD reports 2560x1080 / 75Hz as well.

I've never bothered actually taking pics too like it suggests. The valid message, and how it performs in games and actual use tells me my dell is working right at 75hz.
You can even tell if yove pushed a monitor OC too far by just dragging the mouse cursor across the desktop. If I OC my dell 29 to 80hz it judders a bit. 75hz is lovely.
Run games like dishonered, tweaked to run at 75hz, 75 fps sync locked, and it is beautifully smooth. Sleeping dogs is another good smooth running game to test.
No point testing something like watchdogs, or other poorly coded ****e
This lg monitor is becoming beyond a joke now with all the problems u guys are having ,and @ that price u expect it to be perfect.Well im gonna stay away from buying this monitor for a month or so and see if anything better arrives and see if issues have been addressed by lg there customer service sucks by the sound of the reviews I have read on here quite frightening for that price!!!!

The thing is Most of the reviews are for the 29", not the 34". This thread has everything from 29" Dells, AOC, LG's and Asus displays mixed in. They have far more issues it seems than the 34".
Have 34UM65 (as mentioned previously) and having used it for a week now still no problems with the panel and it is an awesome monitor. Here's hoping no gremlins appear in the near future...

I loaded up TF2 and in-game there is no setting to change refresh rate so I guess it won't allow it but I noticed it dropped to 60Hz in the OSD in the game. Using the test you linked it syncd at 67Hz when set to 75Hz so looked like a 2Hz overclock is max
Yeah just mine I think. I had 2 missed calls from "unknown" on my phone today, I think it may have been LG, I will probably get a call back tomorrow, must keep phone with me...
