LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

No problem in fast paced games... No different to my previous U2713HM. It's all down to what you've adapted to and are very good at playing with.

No, just mrk I think.

My 34UM95 has noticeable bleed it's not as bad as Mrk and one or two others have reported but I'm having trouble deciding if I can tolerate it.

I think more than anything it's the principle of it, I expect nothing less than near perfect from a panel at this price and frankly due to the bleed my eight year old Dell ultrasharp at half the price has better blacks than this panel.

Unless the corners are displaying a large black area it isn't really noticeable, as soon as I get a black scene it's obvious if you look at the corners and frankly looks terrible.

What really makes it unacceptable besides the price is that this is marketed for video and photography work, especially catering towards the FCPX crowd on Macs.

I seriously hoping this massive delay is because they've sorted out their CQ issues to make the monitor live up to its intended audience.

They're sending my monitor back to me on Monday and I've been promised a callback from the rep in charge of my case who has been escalating and getting details. The part cannot be sourced it seems and the above info about stock seems inline with that. If that is the case then it appears I'm in for a 4-6 week wait and if it gets to that point then I'm requesting some kind of refund or compensation from LG given the massive faff, me having to source a new monitor in the interim and lack of transparency and warranty support any decent person would expect purchasing a premium product.

I'll probably be tweeting about this too after the eek end depending on what transpires.

I like the 34UM95 and don't think anyone else will better it at the price point it was at it's just LG's lack of support and forward thinking that is unimpressive. This will certainly be in mind when I next purchase a high end monitor.

Ah hell! They can't even source their own parts? Hmm, something seriously weird going on with their stock.

I would definitely tweet about it. It's amazing how much public social media can help.

I heard it was better then the DELL?

If that's really the case the the UK doesn't get stock until then either, LG just lost the entire market and early advantage they might have had.

Yep, couldn't agree more. What a stupid error. Even taking one more month to avoid these issues would have been better.

I'd love to sit in the meeting with these Execs as they decide the answer to the question 'What's better - ship now and grab the market but risk peeing everyone off, or wait for another month, sort the problems and then leave customers with a lasting positive idea of LG?'

****ing idiots!!

Probably the same people who pushed BF4 out

For gaming? It's 5ms, my old Dell was the same so I never expected any different nor did I notice any gaming performance difference in that area!

Unfortunate mate. Are you going to buy an LG again? Or considering something else?

I was wanting to try this 29" LG one out:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-111-LG&groupid=17&catid=1120

Unfortunately it went out of stock today and I have a feeling it won't be back in stock for a while, if ever.....

The only other options are the dell and AOC but I am not really fussed on the AOC brand and the dell is £100 more so essentially, it looks like I will just have to wait a month or more until LG get their **** sorted :(

So what happened? 3rd time unlucky?

No, my second monitor only got collected today.

Just after reading about the further delay for the 34" version (which to me indicates that there are either some serious issues or/and a new revision might be coming....) and mrk's post, it has put me of the 29um65 now as for all I know, I could be in the same boat as him a month or two down the line :(

5ms is the published gtg time but not the input lag/latency value. The latter value is more concerning for gaming.

LG - 18ms
DELL U2713HM - 22ms

I don't know what affect that has in the real world but in person I notice no difference and on the contrary, my gaming has improved. They also don't state what response time mode it was set to.

The 29" I bought as spare is the 29EB93-P, not the one you mentioned! By all accounts the EB93 appears to be just fine as far as an 8bit panel goes and performance.

Yeah sorry I didn't mean to be preachy. I just usually skip to that section on TFT. I accepted the DELL from OCUK - long story - before realising the 22ms response time.

On separate forums, others have said the LG is better than the DELL for faster paced gaming

I want one. Sell me yours for £20. Thanks. TRUST sent

This is certainly a mess. I've never seen a monitor people want so badly, yet can't provide stock or quality.

I really hope this is a new revision and everything is sorted out.

Between this and all the issues with the SST Ultra HD displays, there are very few choices for me.

I wish LG had a rep on this forum, and others. They'd see the market wants their products.
