LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

I have been saying this since day 1 :p

Edit*

Looks like my 34UM95 has now gone to LG in Germany:

Let's see if LG Germany can fix/replace it more efficiently than LG UK.

Well all the stock ships from Germany originally as one of their Hubs is there I believe. :)

Though saying that the last batch we got originated in Brazil which was purchased via UK official distributor.

I had a look at a 34" finally yesterday, OMG, WOW, OMG, WOW I can see what the fuss is about now they are so spot on literally for everything, so much desktop real estate, driving and flight sim games look unreal and movies, wow.

Great screens from LG, the one I played on had being returned for excessive backlight bleed but in a lit office it seemed absolutely fine. :)

I agree they are superb my one is great in a daylight.
Regards the back light bleed, normal daylight or a well lit office with light coming from multiple sources you wont see it so bad. But put it is a normally lit room, i.e. a light coming from one or two sources and a lower light level in general, you can see it, watching You Tube is really bad, as it displays the video in a 16:9 format leaving you black bands at the side, good for showing the back light bleeding in the corners.
If you have a look at older post we can see where the back light bleed is.

Regards,
Martin

Youtube is long past due updating their player in general. it'll take 21:9 videos but unless you full screen on a 21:9 monitor you get letter boxing. Even on 21:9 one you'll get letter boxing in the default and large player.

It doesn't scale dynamically to fit the video. Rather silly really.

Im both tempted and reluctant to pull the trigger on this monitor. I want something that is giving me a good step up in my experience compared to my current Sammy a950 and the 21:9 would most likely do that but im sacrificing 120hz and gaining what seems to be some horrible bleeding issues and IPS glow. I hate backlight bleeding with a passion. Please correct me if i am mistaken regarding issues this monitor has. If it were a gsync monitor i would be 98% sold.

Why gsync? Adaptivesync I think imo would be better as it is built into every 1.2a DP.

Anyway, depends how much of a gamer you are. This is NOT a gaming monitor, but it can serve as one just fine if you don't care too much about losing the 120hz.

Exactly, it also depends on what games you tend to play. It's certainly not meant for high speed FPS games at all, while it handles others beautifully especially due to colours.

Divinity Original Sin looks amazing on it.

You have used it for months now and have a good sample so IMO worth the £21.

No my model made was april. i purchased mine a day a go, day after when they was £449 when i got mine price went up to £499 asked in webnote if they can still honor they said no way. i purchased the monitor same day price went down £21.00 so not really happy about that. only had monitor since yesterday. :(

Gsync because its here now and Adaptivesync isnt, and because even if adaptivesync was here i dont think nVidia would be in a rush to support it(i game on a gtx780).

I play a bit of bf4, but was just about to dive into Divinity Original Sin, which even though ive only spent an hour on it,looks beautiful and feels awwsome. Im 60% rpg 40% fast paced action aka shooters.

At the moment yes gsync is properly a bit expensive for a manufacturer to implement but as time goes on im sure the 150 dollar premium, that its said that gsync adds to the price, will go down. I guess i just want 21:9 aspect ratio 100+hz gsync/adaptivsync and 34+ inces 1440p+. If they can make that with a quality TN panel like that of the swift without issues with the viewing angles i wouldnt care :).

Hey can anyone recommend me a good monitor calibration tool for LG 34UM95? I was thinking about X-Rite EODIS3 i1Display Pro or Spyder4elite or is there a better one? I heard that Spyder4elite doesn't do too good with Black color, is it true?

Does anyone have some pictures of backlight bleed / iOS glow issues besides mrk so I can see what's acceptable and what isn't on the June batch. It feels like mine is getting worse.
