LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Now i know nothing of ISP glow, but that doesnt look like normal bleed either. Or am i totally blind? looks glowy yellow/orangeish to me. Please correct me if i am mistaken.

Thing is these photos can be deceptive. It looks so much worse on the camera than it does with the naked eye - seriously - I mean like 100 times worse. I have a bit of the orange glow in the bottom corners on mine except I ave only seen it in a very dark room, at night with nothing but black on the screen and even then its barely noticeable but if then take a photo BOOM! It looks awful - really bad.

So on a personal level it is not an issue at all and so far I love the monitor.

As I said in my earlier post, I have been happily using one of my monitor for some time. While following this thread I thought for fun I will check my monitors. The photo made it look horrible with the iPS glow and some backlight leakage. If I posted here some people would probably say send it back. Not going to happen as I have had it 2 years and I am happy with it. We just got to be careful about judging it from photos.

Does anyone have some pictures of backlight bleed / iOS glow issues besides mrk so I can see what's acceptable and what isn't on the June batch. It feels like mine is getting worse.

From reading the multitude of posts there's a discrepancy between lg and the users on what is acceptable bleed/glow.

Quoting LG 'Perfect for Gaming & Multitasking' in another post lg told the user to play in normal office lighting conditions.
But if your gaming at night you tend to have the lights down low.

Given the horror stories in this thread there must be lots of potential Overclocker customers put off buying these LG monitors (me included).

Perhaps Overclockers could get a statement from LG (due to the number of complaints) about bleed/glow and how to test, and what levels are within manufacturing limits.

Would be nice if gibbo could shed any info on this..

A TODAY ONLY price won't be done for you, as they are exactly that and sales have no idea what is coming up on promotion.

However if you ordered at full price (£839.99) just before it went on This Week Only, then we will happily refund you £40.00.

If this is the case just get in touch with who you spoke with before and link them to this post here from myself and they will refund difference. :)

MidKnight sums it up well for me, plus as it's Glow as I move my head it shifts around, even when I bring the camera towards it it fades.

Can't say I've noticed it during movies or games so far at night, and it's only when I force a black screen in pitch black and move back nearly a metre that that photo was possible.

Youtube is long past due updating their player in general. it'll take 21:9 videos but unless you full screen on a 21:9 monitor you get letter boxing. Even on 21:9 one you'll get letter boxing in the default and large player.

It doesn't scale dynamically to fit the video. Rather silly really.

Is it bad that I tried to click Play? :(:(:(:(:(

Tempted to pick up one at the this week price, anyone thinking of (or have done) the same? A little worried about some of the issues raised here already, and the (supposed?) bad RMA from LG? If there's an issue with it can't we just deal with OCUK for a straight replacement?

I know others have got issues with theirs but mine is fantastic, I have no bleed as far as I can tell and really minimal ips glow. Love it

Contact the shop via phone or web note. They won't be able to help you on the forums

Gibbo works for the shop though, and rarely has chance to come on the forums. If he did, i doubt he'd be able to help within a thread like this unfortunately. Try phoning maybe

thats what i did with the webnote, they said no. next day they drop price again. :( thats why i wanted to get hold of gibbo.

I would contact CS via the forum, explain your situation, then show them what Gibbo said...

That should do the trick ;)

Hi there guys I wonder if any of you have experience with 34UM65-P as I'm looking forward to buy it BUT I have few questions:
1. About LG's warranty is it valid in UK as some models are from abroad?
2. Also I'm worried about some of the issues raised here already, and say I got and issue with monitor can I deal with OCUK for a straight replacement or should I contact Lg instead?
3. Also I saw many people having problem with LG's replacements why dont they contact overclockers instead, does 14 Days / Satisfaction Guaranteed apply to this monitor with 30 days Replacement if faulty?
It would be great if you guys can help as I'm very tempted to buy this monitor but I'm little bit worried about warranty in case something happens

Ah right yes, no point in turning DP 1.2 with this monitor unless you have a Quadro or FirePro GPU. So you can save yourself the hassle of that one.
