Lila Connect - VX Fibre 1gig - Stoke on Trent

Cancelled this morning.

Was very put off by the state of the workmen that came to install the cable plus got a really good deal from virgin to stay.
What happened with them workmen? I have emailed them and they came back to me with live dates in the area with 12.2023-03.2024. It does seem like there is a lack of communication between deps.

I have spent over 6 hours with Virgin all the way to Customer Relations and got no deal.
On Facebook a Rep gave me a special number to ring citing his name and I still got no deal.
I've told them I'm leaving in June but still no deal and I've been with them from C&W > NTL > Virgin.

Ring 020 3743 6947. They gave me 500Mb for £24 a month. Mine was on the verge of being disconnected so dunno if theat made a difference

I'm upset. Looked out of my window and Lila are in the street.
I ran over and they are here to fit Lila to a house and the neighbour said they only showed interest two months ago.
Best of it the neighbour said they no longer want it so I said come down to mine instead but thy wouldn't.
Workers couldn't help me so came back to Lila on the Web, logged in and it says re-book appointment and April 11th came up.
Why didn't they inform us that it was advisable to keep looking at the appointment calendar?
Anyway, hopefully next Tuesday.

I told another mate about the appointments thing and his was being done in July, he went on and they're now coming this Friday so if you've got an appointment you're not happy with go and check if you can bring it forward.

Laying the cables to the house today (Thursday) - woohoo

Lila have been here since 7:45am.
The first problem was some of the cable in the street was faulty.
The second problem is that all installers are now 3 hours behind because something isn't working back at base so I now have a connection with no internet and the Modem needs to be switched on from their end.
Apparently they don't leave a customer until it's working but I've been asked very nicely if I can watch it myself and do a speedtest and they'll be in touch later.

Where is that? It doesn't seem I get anything in south Meir. I see they are digging the roads again despite they have done so couple months ago.

One of them turned up stinking of weed and could barely stand upright.

April was on there earlier when i rebooked mine. If youre quick theres my thursday appointment.
Hi, just came off the phone having talked to an agent. I booked last year and am with Virgin.
I was receiving the standard "connection soon" no reply email so emailed to check potential date. The cable was put in my street last June and I was told a target date was February to April 2023 when I ordered. The email came back saying December to February 2024!

Today I got another "getting closer" email so I phoned up, thinking I wasn't yet a customer I chose option 1 sales, only to be told I was on the wrong option as I was a customer. As the sales don't have access to existing customers I rang again and chose customer service . Spoke to a nice guy who has been waiting 2 years himself! Asked about the target date and he confirmed at least 9 months away December to February 2024. Challenged why I was getting the update email and was told "automatic computer" and I was getting nearer. After I stopped laughing asked him to stop them as they were meaningless.
I also asked about whether if I paid the £600ish up front I would be able to allow isp other than Lila to use the network and was told no. This is the opposite of what the company do in Sweden.

It therefore makes no sense whatsoever to pay up front as you will be locked in to them as a supplier just as Virgin. If like me you are with Virgin you will become a new customer after 12 months with Lila and can play one of against another.

Thought I would share this as it isn't something they advertise. Sorry for the ramble but hope it helps.

When they first started, Lila was not even an option for an ISP, they had Breeze, Air and a few others so there were other providers using their network. However, about a year ago, Lila became an option as an ISP and undercut all the other providers by between £5 and £10 so it wasn't worth the others providing a service as they could not match it. There may be others in the future but that would be up to them.
