lite beers... why don't we have them in our pubs?

I don't find Coors to be too bad, it's mine and a mate's drink at a local (bottles rather than pints) but that's pretty much the only time I drink it.

Otherwise it's anything from Guiness to Whisky so I balance out the gayness with some manliness.

EDIT: @wannabedamned Nope, alcohol content is about 5% still

Woh, Is that what my post said, And here's me thinking I wrote something completely different :D

Lighter beers, would mean that 1 pint wouldnt be as strong.... you see where i'm going with this?

Typically 4.2% compared to 5.0%.

Hardly going to make any noticeable difference on that front.

If its less alcohol you're looking for, then quaffable ales tend to be less than 4% :)

Good strong ales are usually a bit higher though.. (see previous post)

Coors tastes like fizzy water to me anyway, coors lite tastes about the same only its served even colder. Looking at tables it does seem to have about 20 calories less per pint than standard Coors, so if you MUST drink beer and want a lower calorie count, it is better.

Personally though, if I was worried about the calorie count of my beer, i'd drink something else, preferably something without alcohol in it!

The wrong place?

'Lite' beers aren't the same as low alcohol beers. How is a low calorie 4.2% beer like Coors Lite going to be any safer than a full calorie 4.1% beer such as Carling?

because you'll take one sip and throw the rest in the barmans face, for serving you such an offensively flavoured drink

not that Carling tastes much better...

How many of those who think Coors is gay instead drink Carling, Grolsch, Worthingtons, Caffreys, Sol, Kasteel Cru, or Zatec...?

Just out of interest?

They're only saying it because they're too uncomfortable in their sexuality to be seen drinking anything other than MAN BEER.

Rather than drink what they like, they drink what they think makes them cool/hard/manly/etc.

beacuse they taste like ****, we're not american and we drink beer to enjoy it rather than get ****-faced at every available opportunity (maybe), not lose weight

Sorry, but Coors Light is a very nice lager. 5% ABV as well. I'm guessing most of the people saying it's rubbish haven't tried it. It's certainly better than other US crap like awful dishwater Budweiser.

Also, Coors "light" is the only kind of Coors we can actually get over here (unless you look really hard). I don't drink it because it has fewer calories, but because it's a genuinely good yank lager. It's not the same as the 4.2% Coors Light you get in the US, we have our own Coors Light at 5%.

edit: In fact, I'm pretty sure it's just called Coors Light and isn't actually "light" at all.

edit edit: I take it all back! They've knocked it down to 4.5% apparently! I haven't had it in a couple of years, so I may be completely wrong about how it tastes now. Definitely used to be good, though!
