LOTRO free to play going ahead.

On a warhorse you have a totally different set of skills to train and use. Can't really comment on guardian, but in terms of taunt etc there was little need when I played since most of the rohan content was not really geared for group play. Don't know if there has been some group mounted content added as I've not really played since xmas.

Biggest problem with mounted combat was server lag / rubberbanding, seems the speed of mounts was too much for the server to keep up with. probably is still the same :p

Rubberbanding has always been an issue in lotro, ive played many mmos and none as much as lotro but rubberbanding was always there. I remember trying to leave bree homesteads and after every few steps id spring back to the entrance. only way out was to wait 45mins for my map cooldown and tele to esteldin.

Seen rubberbanding effect in a few MMOs but have to say LOTRO was always bad for it even just traveling by horse. Didn't really affect things when I played though as there wasn't mounted combat.

I thought they updated monsters to be stronger? was pre rohan when I last played and that was bad enough with creeps getting slaughtered unless they had twice the number or a poor freep raid.

They did, but then they buffed Freeps again after Rohan. Just check out the LotRO forums and you'll see the problems for yourself, like Wardens OP, Runekeeper Crits etc.

re-installing again now, i've never gotten over lvl 32 i think lol...just hate the tedious leveling

The bounders token totals really showed up which servers were dead, sad to see Evernight so far behind, I started on that server. Laurelin is buzzing though, it's great :)

I think im on evendium or something like that.ARe there a lot from OCuk on LAurelin?i may start fresh on this server then.can i sen gear from my toons on the other server or do i have to start from scratch?
I stopped subing for VIP when i stopped a few months ago.if istart afresh will istill be premium and have acces to my turbine points still?

I went back to try this, lost all my old 50's toons in the Codemasters to Turbine changeover so started from scratch and got to around Lvl80 on my main character but then the Session Play (WTF were they thinking!?) and the Mounted Combat (As soon as the novelty wears off it's WTF!?) just killed it dead for me, I also found it a massive exercise in frustration all the ridiculous cool-downs in the top-end crafting which was another nail in the coffin.

I did like the new Skirmish stuff but even that got ruined by the relatively low Marks reward, I found I was just getting enough Marks to keep levelling for the skirmishes and I eventually found myself just completing the single same skirmish time after time as the others were just a bit to 'meh' to bother with.

I did VIP sub for 4 Months too but that has expired now, I fire it up maybe once a week to mess around on a lvl50 Minstrel alt for a while but soon end up getting bored as the problem for me is: There is plenty to do, just everything takes far too much time or effort, the 'balance' is way out IMHO (I like grinding in MMO's too!) In LOTRO there's too many 'false' hurdles, 10 of this a day.. 5 of this a day... 1 of this a day... It just breeds frustration.

Yeah i know what you mean about the stop start nature of it.thats why in thinking of starting from scratch.may sub for a month if needed for quest packs etc but i have a fair bit of TP stored so may be ok.also got the tripple pack off steam so have Moria, mirkwood and isengard and also got the Mithril edition to

Ive got lifetime back when the game was amazing! moria was a good expansion and had a lot of fun but went vastly downhill afterwards I still cannot believe they haven't done another area like Carn Dum, that place was so much fun!

I have a bunch of 75's on Gilrain played some rohan got to mounted combat and didn't return until lastweek. They should really offer free transfers from dead servers.

I'm a founder on Evernight and logged in for the first time since Enedwaith last week - the server is dead, my kin was one of the biggest and it's dead...my mates are now on snowy and I have to say the new content sucks.

I loved lotro soooooooo much but now it's painful :(

My now 84 champ was running around with DN gear lol

Downloaded and going to give it a run on Laurelin. I have fond memories of playing a couple of years ago, and being a fan of the lore it was interesting then. Whats the best solo class?
