LTT called out

You can't roll grenades in like that without links man! :)
It's a rumour at the moment but I've heard it from a number of not connected People in different areas.

And the rumours only started a couple of weeks ago, so the whole hit piece on another YouTuber is a tad like a distraction.

You've either not watched/listened to the videos or are. Or both.
Watched them all and I understand things happen within a growing business and dont live in a fairy land of youtuber social justice heaven where everything has to be done to appease the internet social sphere or the mob comes for you.
I see business errors here, still why does the public need to know how they have settled it? Its a matter between 2 businesses.
Also, do us a favour, sorted.

People will try to retaliate with dishing dirt on Steve, but to bring up irrelevant drivel about a mouse mat...really?
This is about deep stuff affecting consumers, companies and the industry as a whole when a group as big as LMG produce content which is unfair and inaccurate. Not really the same surely?

Hopefully linus is away digging up as much dirt as possible on Steve to whip out a comeback video.
I reckon right now all linus staff are going threw every video he has released, calling anyone he's ever interacted with and rummaging his bins ;-) .

Loving the silly drama on a really slow day for me.

edited. It was too strong, my apologies.
Also points taken.

Does anyone really care?

Shock as YouTuber/reviewer has shady agreements to bring in more revenue. Same as everyone out there, it’s rife in the car review community.

I’ll continue watching LTT as it’s entertaining.

I’ll continue not watching GN drone on for 40 minutes with 1000 benchmark screenshots.

So if you lent someone your 4090, they pawned it and only reimbursed you when the newspapers got involved you'd be cool with that right? It was just their growing pains.

That's the thing though, Steve has gone all out on this against a team of over 100 employees right? Any little detail he tripped up on in the past could get painfully analysed now. But then... LMG are apparently so busy that they don't have time.

Linus and co have to tread carefully here to try to turn this around. I think that they should focus on a proper apology and reflect on some deep seated issues.

Tbh they should have lawyered up before sending their only prototype to someone. Business is harsh.

Irrelevant?

He knew the mousemat was wrong then refused to refund on a defective products?

Then called out ltt for crap behaviour..

GN is just doing hit pieces to get views, it's a YouTube technique as old as time.

Expect multiple versions of the same recordings until the views drop.

GN is about as unoriginal as it gets, they haven't changed their formula in years. Go back 5 years and bar a hair cut you wouldn't be able to tell the videos apart

It's the lies in the response from Linus which is so harmful. He has to stop digging a hole and twisting words and just come out and apologize and aim to do better.

EDIT: Not sure now about said lies see below

Thank you, very grateful for the respect in return. Understand the drama and reasons why people are upset, dont see the need for us all to go nuclear on it, much more heinous things they could be doing.

Still that is something between two businesses and not two individuals, this is not a trade on the members market. If it was that big of a problem and they needed it back/money sooner, they should have considered legal routes, as most businesses would.

Unfortunately this. Especially when dealing with massively expanding companies.

I don't know the history of the mouse mat sorry so can't really comment. Hence I asked for links to all this stuff so I could read about it to get a balanced opinion.

More likely, Linus will use his clout to stop anything new going to GN.

I can see this ******* of a lot of others in the community.

Linus has done more colabs, Steve might struggle if he acts this way

It appears that Linus only decided to "settle" with Billet AFTER the GN video.

Before the video, Linus didn't care to respond to Billet after he auctioned off their prototype.

Let that sink in for a moment.

I'd have to rewatch the video but I'm pretty sure a refund was offered, it was the fix or a refund.

Yeah it sucks and as a business if they needed the funds, equipment back sooner or in full etc etc, there should have been formal agreements in place, I imagine AMD, NVIDIA, Intel and a number of others do that state the stipulations of reviewing, holding and returning/selling the product. I doubt it is that big of a deal for Billet labs, as if it would they surely would have looked at legal options (for return of funds etc) before this video came out.
