LTT called out

So Billet labs was dealing with some unnamed person at LTT. Said unnamed person at LTT messes up. When this news gets to Linus' ear via the GN video, Linus attempts to correct the situation by reimbursing them the cost of the prototype.

Okay.
Did you fail to see Linus destroying the company’s reputation, due to his company’s ineptitude, beforehand?

No no, it was Linus fault he's clearly incharge of inventory and dealing with auctions and random companies.

Bit like how it's benzos fault for your Amazon order being delayed

I like how most people are choosing sides like they know Steve or Linus personally and have a vested interest in seeing one suffer and the other as the saviour of the PC master race.

They are both businesses just like AMD or nVidia, all the advices from youtubers like them not to get sucked into AMD's/nVidia's/Intel's words but then don't apply it to LMG/GN

Probably because of what they present themselves as. I doubt most people care much at all.

Auction off a prototype would have come from Linus himself. Without a shadow of doubt.

That shiit would have passed around the discussion and many peole would have been in that meeting/discussion and the name and the product would have been talked about.

Linus probably went something along the lines - this is junk, it didn’t work. But it looks cool, yeah auction it for charity.

Ofc the above is my extrapolation of Linus persona from YT only and it proabbly exists on Earth-10956

That’s interesting cos I haven’t even seen it. I am sub and also YT algo usually push that level of crap into my gut.

So I doubt it, Mr Earth-60991
? it has 455k views in 4hrs. It is the video following up the video he released "unmonetised" yesterday.

The "company"? lol.

You mean his general news video that he does weekly and it only added the response to Linus response cause that response was so bad yeah?
Yeah - the one with 50% of the coverage about Linus, the opening image Linus, and the first bill about Linus.

Yeah expect it's been months of incompetence and lies and and literal theft. Be it Linus or the group is irrelevant. It never should have got to that situation!

I don't see your point. The whole thing wasn't monetised originally at all. Linus caused a response that didn't warrant a full video return so GN added to their news part and moved onto the general news he always does.

You are really pulling at straws here now.

Reading some of the comments in this thread. I actually want to ask people what size company they work for.

Do these people need to CC the CEO or their direct line manager in every email they write? Are they simply not trusted with making decisions in the companies they work for?

Good on him. A 10min plug out of 25min videos generation 450k viewing, result. Good on the man.

You suggesting something there?

His original video got 2.4mil views in less than 24hrs…

That’s an even sweeter earner. Also YT earning doesn’t work off singular video viewing figures etc. it’s not that simplistic

You could also at the same time that the person dealing with the actual email chain could have done their job, not put it up for auction and required to Linus to step in last second to try and resolve it (where he actually lied to claim they had already spoken to resolve it prior to Steve's video which we know isn't true).

It is a total company fault with Linus straight up trying to take people for a ride hiding behind a really awful response.

If someone had responded as Linus has done to that video they literally would have been fired from our company for lying.

Amazing how many posters, not seen for months and months suddenly pop up in this thread

There's a practice in the industry to have employees on as many forums as possible so when stuff like this pops up you send in your employees to start putting people down, Getting personal etc etc... just go through this thread and you'll spot them quite quickly, Especially a certain someone that within the last hour or so had his username changed.

Is it happening here ? No clue, Maybe it's just trolls with small peepees but it's not outside the realm of possibility.

I hope Linus finds the members of staff and fires them.

Then name drops Steve in a video, i.e. thanks to Steve diligence the member of staff responsible for this situation has been fired.

It seems to have been resolved as soon as Linus found out about it with the company stating they've received a offer of either the item back or monetary compensation.

I wonder how much this is down to Linus being too busy and not micro managing enough

Maybe you're new to this thread, but there are a number of posts were people are directly blaming Linus for the mishandling of the prototype as if it was a decisions he made himself and was fully aware of what had happened.

Now if you want to talk about how it is bad communication or how the person how handled it was incompetent. I don't disagree. But that wasn't the point people where making. Hence why I said what I said in my post.

He did personally cause the first issue because he did the initial review that was bloody awful. And as much as there is no doubt a team that organised what went up for auction I don't for a second believe that Linus wasn't aware that it had been and should have known better too.

To add as noted he is to blame for the response and lie that they as a company had resolved the issue satisfactorily prior to Steve's video which we know they had not.

So that is why people are directly blaming him as he took responsibility by perpetrating a lie and fed false claims to the community at wide to try and cover up their mistakes as a whole.

Linus for that is why he is getting mauled here and rightly deserves to be.
