Even though it costs more and is slower? This M4 problem is a non issue and will be fixed before it affects the majority of their customers and the ones affected aren't losing any data.

The Intel 320 series issues were much worse.

^ Quoted for the truth (why does it star out Q F T) if this is the wosrt issue that besets the m4 then it is still miles ahead of many other brands. Whilst i have told people that have asked about this issue when i recommend an ssd none so far have seen it as a reason not to buy. When taking into account the past performance of the drive and the fact crucial both quickly acknowledged the problem and have a fix in the works to be released soon.

None of the other M4 firmwares have been destructive so this next one shouldn't be either.

YAY! I shall flash this once I can access my desktop . Same procedures as before right? Switch to IDE mode, boot from disk, flash, switch back to AHCI and done?

EDIT: Looks like some users are reporting updating in AHCI mode works.

Nah, you can and I did flash in AHCI without issues.

brilliant just got mine today, so flashed before i start the install, mine worked fine, i left it in the normal mode rather than switching to ide. all done.

I tried updating firmware using both USB bootable and external DVD drive but I am getting an error!
"This tool cannot update the following drive, so it will be skipped.
M4-CT128M4SSD2 : 0009"

Any one had this error?
