**Mafia 2 Benchmark thread**

You haven't turned AA off mate.

Can OP post with mega-huge-capital-letters that to change video settings you have to restart the game, please?

@Raven

With AA turned off he'll get over 90 fps or so.

How is it not working mate?

Am I missing something in terms of scaling of 5870 in xfire, a lot of results in here are at 1680x1050, 2nd last results seem to suggest a 65fps average at max settings at 1920x1200 with a 1Ghz overclocked 5870, and the xfire results are giving 98fps at similar settings at the same res, with much much lower clocked gpu's.

Surely thats 50% increase in speed, with 200Mhz or so lower gpu's?

EDIT:- looking at post 43 vs 80 , crossfired 875mhz 98fps average, post 80, single 5870 1040Mhz, 65.4fps, so with similar clocks probably looking at roughly 65-70% speed increase? I think people are confusing the 1680x1050 results of a single 5870 getting someting in the region of high 70's low 80's average, its a different res though.

Also these two results are 3.6 and 3.7Ghz 920 i7's so basically the same setups.

let me help out here and disable 1 card and re run test so you get exact figures to work with for CF scaling :) (i use cat 10.4b with stock 5870 vapor-x's 875/1250)

single 5870

CF 5870

CF 5870 no AA

plz add 1fps for fraps running :p

Something wired going on with physx and this demo, so I disable AA and play the game with high physx now look at my FPS, at first FPS was under 30 and GPU usage was 20-30%, I hit a fence to confirm physx was working and it is as the fence did not disappear, GPU usage went up as I went through the demo averaging over 100 FPS with high physx.

IMO a 480 is well enough to run high physx on its own, just depends if Nvidia and the developer want it too.

The Physx ss installed when you install the demo appears to be breaking Physx across all games. Batman AA runs like absolute crap with it installed for instance, as it appears the physx is being processed on the CPU instead of the GPU so thats why ATI owners are getting the same frames as Nvidia owners....

Hopefully they'll fix it quickly.

Provided this IS how it works with RadeonPro, I set 8xAA, 24X CFAA(EDGE DETECT) 8X Wide Tent, 6x Narrow Tent and 4x Multisampling box. It could be that only one is on at any given time? If so, then EdgeDetect was the bullet highlited whilst gaming.

I left AA OFF in game and benched.

Game feels like a horrible console port, even the gun switching shows the dpad for 360. Along with the terrible PhysX fps, Mafia 2 doesn't deserve our money.

Guys with Nvidia cards try going in to the control panel and set physx configuration to your card only, auto is the default setting, and don't bother with the benchmark, play the game.

imo no AA is being used there as youve got ~30% fps increase on your bench with it on in game.. so i dont think u can set ur own levels of AA with other tools, its either on or off
