A message to our PC players (06/10/160)

We know how important having options that best suit your PC’s performance capabilities are. The team has been hard at work ensuring that Mafia III’s performance is consistent across all platforms, and right now the game runs at a solid 30 frames-per-second. We are currently working on an update for PC that will give players the option to play Mafia III at higher framerates. We’ll share more details about the update, and when you can expect it to arrive, very soon. In the meantime, the team welcomes feedback and would like to hear from you about what performance adjustment options are important to you. We’re actively considering a number of additional post-launch improvements on PC that would give players more control over how they can tailor the game’s experience to suit their rig’s performance. It’s been an incredible journey developing Mafia III and we couldn’t be more excited to get the game in your hands and hear what you think!

That's good enough for me, If I can't get on with it at 30 fps I'll put it on the back burner and play WRC 6 which is also releasing today/tomorrow and maybe GOW4 if I can make myself stomach the 50 quid asking price.

Don't know what to say with this 30fps.... really? in the 2016 all the gpu and cpu power and they cap it at 30! lock at 60 can be ok.... but 30 ffs!

So that is why no reviews copies then.... . but even with out them it's a other game **** show!

Might just wait and see if they but out a fix.... but well done devs .

That statement is incredibly patronizing and insulting.

They act as if this was a first PC game ever released. As if they had NO IDEA that PC gamers are running highend hardware and highrefresh screens.

Just ridiculous. I bought this game and I feel like these clowns don't deserve a cent.

Just seen the screen caps on neogaf... oh my .... Mafia 1 looks better! Just a joke that devs think it's fine to pass this along.

What is going with games this year? or is there am underlining push from devs to get us all to have PS4 and xbox?

30fps already makes this stink like a dodgy console port, likely its poorly optimised on PC and they want to hide it with 30fps, exactly like Arkham Knight did.

Tried Tunnelbear and hola to get to play this early but Steam is laughing at both of them. Anyone recommend a good VPN that plays nicely with Steam?

Oh dear, it seems the 30fps is locked to the game engine itself, forcing a lock of 15fps makes the whole game run slower (cars, movement etc). Forcing 60fps (if that's even possible) would make the game look like it's running in fast forward. Not good.

I'm no game coder but sorting this to run at 60fps or unlimited is probably not an easy fix.

Hmmm, Steam still is telling me the game isn't available, even though I'm using a Japanese VPN.

Guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow. You never know, it may actually be 60FPS by then

Hope all those that pre-ordered (excluding steam users) are enjoying their lovely console 30 fps experience

If you buy from a key site to save a few quid yes but there's no reason not to pre-order though Steam anymore, As with Mafia 3 pre-ordered copies get 6 exclusive items and if the games unplayable for any reason you have 2 weeks and 2 in-game hours to refund it.

If this is true and it'ds locked to 30fps yes I'm disappointed but I would be whether I'd bought the game yet or not, that's nothing to do with whether I pre-ordered.

Yup if going through steam then no issues as if/when you request a refund, the developer/publishers actually loses money since steam/valve keep their cut

Saw this one coming a mile off all those months ago. Ahhh PC gaming going from strength to strength with all this incredible power we have on PC right now.

Still, the PC game defence league will soon be in here stating how PC gaming is better right now than it's ever been lmao. Keep telling yourselves that because you bought a £700 GPU for vaseline on your eyes visuals at 30fps.

Disgusting, another game edging me closer to purchasing a Scorpio or PS4 Pro next year and forgetting about overpriced PC gaming right now.

Watching gameplay vids and it's looking pretty ropey right now, it needs a LOT of patching. It's coming across as a rushed, middle of the road simple action game that's not worth the current asking price. An average budget shooter in a couple months.
