Mafia 3

From how great Mafia 2 was,How did they manage to mess up so bad in Mafia 3,I just dont get it.

Did they use an entirely new dev team or something.

Mafia 2 was above average but it wasn't great especially compared to 1, the storyline and setting in 3 is better but like 2 there isn't a lot to do in the open world and some of the gameplay aspects from 2 are noticeably simpler in 3.

cant wait to see the IGN and Game stop etc reviews all giving it the 8/9 out of 10 scores.

I know there's a complete hud removal. But just testing the waters.

Seeing as Mafia 2 had no rear view mirror, maybe difficult. I still can't open the SDS files but the exe can be unpacked.

I bought this earlier from cdkeys before I had read this thread.. wishing I had held off now but had been looking forward to it coming out as completed GTA V and was looking for something to play.. going to try and find my copy of mafia 2 as might have another go at that instead

Didnt you see the video I posted above they were too busy drinking gunpowder coffee. It made there brains go all fuzzy and hyper on the caffeine they just renamed Mafia 2 to Mafia 3, then added some bugs and thought it was stunning to release !

;)

So. After 4.9 hours playtime (logged in steam) and around 5 hours play time via a vpn on launch day i still managed to get a refund for this awful game.

I did the normal steam refund method twice which both got denied, so then i decided to email steam support to explain my frustration with paying £34.99.

I went into basic details about the how bad the game is etc etc and got an email back from "Tech Travis" saying as a good will gesture they are willing to refund £34.99 into my steam wallet (which is exactly the result i wanted).

So there we are guys, dont give up hope if you have exceeded the playtime and still want a refund. Im so glad i persisted. :D

So bad you played it for 10 hours...

Just finished the main story after 28 hours, I really liked the game, only had one bug (hovering car, happened only once).

It's not just that so you clearly ignored all the clipping and the terrible AI which for you is great but for most of us this is a game that wasn't ready for release.
Not by a long shot.
People complain about the graphics but there's so many more important issues that the average graphics are barely worth a mention at this point.

I wish I could get a redund but since I bought on uk.gamesplanet.com I am out of luck, arent I? Since I already activated the game and played for a bit..

I just do not comprehend how could thy frakk it up so much, so many bad design decisions and technically terrible hack job..when they had two masterpieces to follow.
At least they hired a decent writers though.

i feel the same way, i bought my copy from greenmangaming and im just stunned at how poor the game is from a technical standpoint. Gameplay wise it opened up strong with very interesting missions and story and then once the game "opened up" everything just falls flat on its ***. The same mission type over and over to lure out a boss figure. The gun play i find entertaining (hiding behind cover blasting an enemy with a shotgun feels good) and what little story being told as i go has been fine but the rest i find to be garbage at best and then the biggest issue, the performance and look of the game.

The lighting goes haywire often, there is plenty of loss of detail and what looks like upscaling going on even after FXAA has been turned to low(why not an off option?). FPS dropping for no reason spite using the latest mafia 3 driver from nvidia(the 368 bracket has been even worse in this regard but thats to be expected).

No way in hell am I going to bother with this game now, I'll just watch the cutscenes on YT to get a grasp of the story without having to subject myself to the misery of the gameplay.

Well, more money for me:D
