Malaysian GP 2009 - Race 2/17

b) not realising untill after the 2 hours had passed that the race wasnt going to get going again

Yeah seriously, how backwards are these guys?

I mean, after seeing the pictures on the BBC broadcast, the clouds and the light conditions coupled with the commentators thoughts and background knowledge of Malaysia... /shock!

Not even that, it was simple maths. They needed to get to 75% for full point, which is 43 laps. They were on 32 so needed 11 more laps to get to the 75% mark. behind the safety car you were looking at 3 minuite laps, or 2 minute laps racing proper, so.

For the race to go full distance they needed 26 laps, at 2mins each, which is 52 mins plus the 10 minuite warning, which is 62 mins, which there was no chance of happeneing as the race was stopped after more than 60 mins.

OR

For 75%, they needed 11 laps, which is 22min, plus 10 mins warning, makes it 32 mins, so at 18:30 (local time) they should have been able to call it.

Even taking things right to the wire, at 18:50 there was no way the race was going to start, but still they waited untill gone 19:00 to inform the teams.

Complete farse.

I tihink the term is too many chefs, destroy the soup.
theirs too many people incharge of the race.
you have the fia, the stewards and the co-ordinator then the grand prix drivers union thingy..

what they should do is reduce fia and steward influance during the race and let the race co-ordinator with info from the drivers union, then we wont get this crap ...

On the contrary I liked Schumacher for what he did, he was arrogant and easily won races at the same time :D

Anyone else think what Alonso did to prevent a retirement, was badass?

I dislike arrogance and cheats, its one of the worst human traits imo, horses for courses so they say!

I watched the Alonso/Hamilton Hungary 2007 qual video on youtube, v funny, I was ****ed off with Alonso at the time, but v amusing looking back!

alonso is the stnadered of the moderen f1 driver, he dosnt care about the team or the car. just himself. he expected to be number 1 in a high team without putting in the effort of proving that he is capable of number one with fastest lap times.

Loved Shumacher, loved Jordan, enjoyed Hamilton to start with but he began to grate. Never really loved Button but am very pleased for him.

Love Kubica, Vettel and Barichello, though.

Unlike Hamilton? How doesnt Hamilton give input on development? Bloody hell your fanboyism is mad!

so is yours as an outsider who cares neither for alonso or hamilton you both seem as bad as each other.

its not like hamilton has much f1 experience to call upon to aid with the development of the car and with all the rule changes even people like schumacher would probably struggle to aid devlopment without all the testing they used to be allowed.

Ya I don't like cheating either, hence why I didn't like Alonso at first, however he seems to be growing on me lately.

But that video is hilarious. Thanks for the link. :D

Urm, to be fair, we have absolutely no idea how much or how little "input on development" Hamilton provides. I think some people on here need a little humility about people they really don't know very much about. A few sound bites to camera and a couple of magazine interviews don't even scratch the surface of what these men are actually like to work with.

ok, ok each driver gives imput on the cars as their surposed to race the bloody things, you cant just jump in a race car this finely tunned which is set up and designed for other drivers, they used to have different aero packages which would be designed with the drivers to suit their driving style not so much with the limitations,

On a side note :rolleyes::

Brawn, BMW / Toyota then McLaren / Redbull ?

Will make more guesses after the practices, but I already predicted the first race correctly, albeit easily. :D

My earlier quote before practice 1, quite close. :D :p

My point exactly, how can rypt qualify his statement?

By how bad the McLaren car is this year, even compared to Ferrari?

On an un-related note, can someone find me a good quality (does not have to be hugely high-res) picture of a corner at one of the top f1 circuits (any circuit would do), with no cars on it but taken in the oncoming direction.

ie like that, but taken so that the car is oncoming (except that I want there to be no cars about)

Really? He seems to care about the car and gives input about its development, unlike Hamilton

You are extremely sad.

I know nothing compared to some of the guys on here to do with F1, but i know everything ive read of yours is just pure bull...
