Man city escape ban! Or did they? [Update 6/2/23]

Meh, nothing of any significance will happen.

Football associations are pathetically weak.
its the Premier League (with their own rule book)and they will dish out very severe penalties. Rule W15 give the Commission power to dish out what they want, eg, removal from the Prem, replay games, points deduction (future or historical) etc

Not really anything to do with who owns them, more to do with inflating income, fiddling the books etc. Any owner can do this. I mean, how can City have more revenue than Real Madrid..... just lol. 80m more if I read correctly.

I don't know enough about this to be sure but if there is any way for City to defend themselves then this will drag on and the eventual punishment will be paltry. City have unlimited funds to tie this up in court for years and the PL will cut a deal with them.

I'll be very surprised if anything of any consequence comes of this.

As much as it's all 'against the rules', I'm sure the PL are more than happy that City's mega money has helped the Premier League become even more of a financial powerhouse than it was, as everyone else tries to keep up.

It'll be a non punishment at best

Derby didn't and they breached many ffp rules. Granted not to this scale.

So you think what happened at Derby had nothing to do with the owners?

It wasn't just a different scale, it was completely different circumstances. The only point I'm arguing is stating that it's "Not really anything to do with who owns them".
