People harping on about police resources are thick as mince.

If something is obvious and provable in an instant then the police should definitely act on it.

There is a difference between this and trying to trawl cctv to find someone with a covered face who stole a bike.

Why is it that the more so-called "liberally-minded" members of this forum are also the most likely to resort to insults and name calling in any argument.

There is a definite correlation between the people who view themselves as "progressives", and the likelihood of those people to make snide remarks and act in an extremely condescending manner.

No doubt the retort will be something like, "We're really fed up of all the racists/bigots and shouldn't have to put up with their ignorance," or something.

Oh I called people thick because they are clearly not capable of thinking logically. Lets say the police had 10000 reported crimes but they only focused purely on the big hitters. Murder, terrorism, rape etc. Say 1%. But then they only managed to solve 10% of that.

So 10 people are satisfied their crime got solved.

How does that look for the police? You need balance. You take quick wins when you can.

If all evidence is clear as day and the paperwork requirement is a done deal then youd be retarded to not complete it.

It would be easy for me to say no because I've never been subject to it. But I also know that some young people get bullied to the point of suicide through social media so anything to deter that is fine by me.

Its still free speech, Why can people not see that you can not simply choose what people can say. Censorship requires a little nudge, And it keeps snowballing until the cops come and arrest you for calling your neighbour a pig.

I've been the victim of theft and never seen a Police officer, there's been no investigation as far as I can tell, just a crime recorded.

Well yes, location is entirely pertinent. One is a private address that you've deliberately targeted, one is a public space with third parties present.
There is a much higher level of threat in going to someone's home.
