Manchester Bombing *** Please remain respectful and refrain from antagonising posts ***

Cobra will meet several times.

The attacker will be 'known' to intelligence agencies.

May will critise the WhatsApp for it encryption.

A strong and stable statement will be issued.

Terrorism & hate will never win people will live their lives with freedoms and peace.

#pray4manchester

There will be an indepth investigation into the person by the media once their name is released - 90% of what's reported for the first few hours will be completely incorrect

edit - actually this isn't the place for party politics

indeed - unfortunately when you get initiatives like the Quilliam foundation and Maajid Nawaz promoting a liberal viewpoint and calling for change within the muslim community then many within his own community instead attack him.

And on the opposite side, wasn't that Terrorist swoop in London when the woman got shot done because of a tip off from a family member?

I'm not sure how that is 'the opposite side'? I'm very glad the family of that potential attacker did go to the authorities but it isn't symptomatic of the goals of the foundation mentioned being widely accepted.

Much anti Western and anti British rhetoric here this morning, one has to wonder why some people come here, or choose to remain living here. Emigration should be considered. Much censorship this morning too...Looks like The Running Man has been run out of town for mentioning the A word.

Juncker just in on the act with the the great news that the EU is pulling together and supporting us, (whilst Europe sends flotillas to ferry more illegals across the Med into Europe to replace those that detonate).

Manchester mayor states this must not divide us, white stick and guide dog, rather than mayoral chains needed. He only needs to read this forum...

Even the Tories have been blamed for this latest atrocity by some here. Rather tenuous, even for GD.

Unfortunately when it's framed a war against Islam some nutters that aren't associated with the warzone but "follow" that religion decide they want to join the "war".

ISIS are trying to frame it as such and many in the west are happy to oblige for "our" side.

It's obviously not a war against Islam and most people understand that, but that doesn't stop the idiots on both sides. At least the likes of Trump et al. have toned their rhetoric down a little recently.

Well yes - I was calling out the other posted for making such an us and them argument... I didn't really need that explained.

Targeting children, I don't have the words to describe these people.
I can think of a fair few pal, none of them are strong enough to describe the level of disgust I have for this revolting act...
I bet you do, but they'll earn you a suspension.
I've removed/edited loads of normal rule breaks in this thread and not done a thing when it comes to 'choice' language. I completely understand it's nearly impossible to remain objective when something like this happens

Nope, I don't see where anyone who wants to blow up innocent children are coming from.
My guess would be motivated by revenge, in our country having so many children killed in one day by terrorists is shocking, in many countries having so many children killed in one day by us is normal.

Sadly violence almost always leads to more violence :(

I know it doesn't help the families of those foreign children killed... But do we specifically target those children.

This attack specifically targeted young people

Difference is, we don't go out and directly target children, (not that it makes a child death acceptable.)

I couldn't quite believe what I woke up to. It's my birthday and I'm sat here in shock that so many innocent people have lost their lives at an event they were there to enjoy.

I'm going to the o2 on Sunday to see Iron Maiden. I hope some people due to go also or to any other concert in the near future won't be put off because of this tragic attack, because then they're having a wider impact. RIP :(
