You guys seem to be a bit too loyal, Greg is right - from the issues I'm seeing people have, this has not been a very successful release. I'll stick to my 780s and DirectX, much more reliable and smooth as butter.

So Gregster apart from the crashing it's looking pretty awesome on my unsupported crossfired 7970s and a weak CPU using Mantle?

You seem to be confused as to whether constant crashing is worth the extra performance gains, judging by your quotes....
If it was me, and i wanted to play the game no crashing would be acceptable no matter the gains....i certainly wouldn't put it down to being a beta more like a failed delayed launch.

UNSUPPORTED!
Also it hasnt been optimized for the 7000 series yet i have 7970 i get a pause every now and then but i know it will get fixed so back to DX for now.

I can see this thread getting locked
But it's something we already knew about before we even used it? Surely if they released it and said nothing and it was in driver 14.1 WHQL then yeah it would go down as a fail Launch.
But they never it was listed inside of a BETA driver 14.1 v1.6 and with a complete list of the issue we would be dealing with.
This. Sums. It. Up. Period .Mantle is ALPHA, not beta, Beta is due March/April time, final is due end of year. But don't let those who insist something has "launched" just so they can tear it down in what we can deem to be the most predictable posts of the year.
Funny because Rroff is supposedly sensible, should know what Alpha is, is buying into the hype and nonsense(can someone point me to the huge "launch" AMD have been hyping... outside of the predicted dates for the Beta and final version to be available?). He also made statements about BF4 not being representative of Mantle... but is now having a go at AMD for doing what..... letting Dev's play around with the Alpha, and there being teething issues with an alpha, really?
The performance advantages are clear as day, the potential for completely different game development route with bottlenecks/overheads removed is showcased very well by Oxide.
Non perfect BF4 patch on an alpha, who could have predicted that.... except absolutely everyone.
It's funny because after months of BS the general consensus say 2 weeks ago from Nvidia and AMD people was... BF4, bit of a joke, Mantle shouldn't be judged on BF4, chances of Dice getting it right out of the gates are sub 2%. But now it's out, these low expectations disappear and we're back to "Mantle was LAUNCHED, it's a failure, doom, apocalypse, boooo".......
Imagine my surprise at this turn of events......
Well, this thread really has carried right on where "AMD unveils revolutionary 'Mantle'" left off hasn't it!
This was an opportunity for a fresh start too!
Posts like this just don't help in the slightest. The AMD guys can just go back to directx for now and play it even better than the nvidia cards can anyway...
