my mother, in an "experimental" phase, decided to make a chocolate cake using sour cream and creme fraiche in the filling and buttercream icing. I don't know if she didn't read the recipe, or missed out an ingredient, like sugar or chocolate, or both, but it was disgusting. The children who were there retched, gagged and spat out the cake in front of her. Don't serve things masquerading as nice when they aren't.
It was like that vicar of dibley lady, only in real life it's not as funny when you're eating it:
