Ditto. The smell of twigletsSee I hate twiglets but I like Marmite.
nope, still made in Burton upon TrentDitto. The smell of twiglets
Have you ever driven past the marmite factory? The stench is overpowering, nothing like marmite itself. We used to have to go past it to get to Alton Towers on school trips. Honestly I'd rather smell pig swill. I imagine the factory has gone overseas now as i think i read marmite is now imported. Shame to lose it, but the local residents must be delighted. Those that have any sense of smell left.
Well it has two known allergens (soy, eggs) as well as added sugar, and is that meant to say caramel? I guess his point was that marmite is far more appealing on having fewer, or more specifially no, indeterminate "enhancers and agents" in it.So what out of that Bovril list is damaging?
Good to know, but beckons the question "why were unilever trying to hike the price due to brexit?" Import costs of the "spices"?nope, still made in Burton upon Trent

As both disodium inosinate and guanylate are relatively expensive, they are usually used in combination with MSG, which is much cheaper to produce. Thus, any foods containing disodium inosinate and guanylate most likely also have MSG. These flavor enhancers have a synergistic relationship, and each enhances the action of the other to allow manufacturers to increase the flavor of a food while decreasing the sodium it contains.
then processed? Ah, so if it's coming from a Dutch brewery that could make sense. If only the UK had some breweries though. It does of course, but whether they're Unilever owned breweries however...The yeast is collected as a brewery byproduct, then proceed
it implies unilever were not sourcing the yeast locally before covid, but a lack of lateral thinking on their part when Brexit happened saw them try to take the lazy route and hike prices rather than find UK sources for the yeast. Hopefully now they've squared that circle it has put a stop to unnecessary "brexit induced" price changesGenuinely baffled by that but anyway
