*** Mass Effect 3 ***

Whilst this is true, it is anything but minimal. I agree, the story is much more interesting.

The game would lose so much impact without Thane. Legion, Mordin and Tali in it! ....they are some of the best moments in the trilogy.

I couldn't imagine playing the game without an imported save

I meant, you don't get them as squad-mates, extra side quests, dialogues, or affect the ending (nothing does anyway). I'm re-playing a ME2 paragon character just to get all the extra bits in ME3.

I played without importing, but Mordin and Tali were in it anyway. I did miss Legion - the main geth character was someone else instead, and Thane was nowhere to be seen. Neither was Morinth, Samara, Kasumi, Grunt....

My game turned up two days ago and now I'm in a quandry. Do I hold off in case alternative ending DLC comes out so that I don't just have to deal with whatever it is you guys have had to deal with or do I start playing?

With Risen 2 coming at the end of April and Diablo 3 in mid-May, all I really need to do is hold off for six weeks and I'll have plenty of other gaming to do while DLCs are released for this. Hmm.

^ An offical response to the ending debate, probably not the only response though.
Sadly it's one of those statements with lots of words that say very little, PR speel to the max.

May as well just play it since the rest of the game is great (especially if you have an ME1/2 import to use).

It is the only response so far:(

I still wouldn't bet against this being a massive troll, how could they make that ending on purpose???? (i don't really think this anymore....but i did for a while)

Well i meant it's probably not gonna be the only response they ever make on the issue.
Since it appears the devs actually thought the endings were good/fine/etc it'll probably take a fair amount of time before anything can actually be done (if they do anything at all).

Would love to be able to question the devs responsible for this mess without their PR overlords to filter their answers, shame that'll never happen.

My take on this whole fiasco is that because EA owns Bioware, EA can do whatever they want (even if Bioware employees disagree). It seems that any developer EA acquire the games that are developed eventually go down the toilet. Examples I can think of are C&C, NFS, Ultima Series...

"So where do we go from here? Throughout the next year, we will support Mass Effect 3 by working on new content. And we’ll keep listening, because your insights and constructive feedback will help determine what that content should be. This is not the last you’ll hear of Commander Shepard."

MOAR DLC money*!!

for Biofail

Bioware haven't said anything other than "We are listening". If Bioware release some dlc that isn't ending related, the internet will explode with nerdrage. Its such a pity that the ending sucked since the rest of the game was superb. The only two things that I didn't like were:

The lack of any meaningful consequence of saving the rachni queen in ME1 and not seeing Tali's face on the Quarian homeworld when she removed her helmet.

The music over the entire series was also fantastic.

Also, cutting the Anderson dialogue near the end was weird since it was such a good exchange between him and Shepard.

The indoctrination/hallucination theory does make a lot of sense (especially with that tree) but after the "final hours" thread it seems that it wasn't intended by the devs. Plus, making people pay for the real ending would be outrageous and I'm pretty sure that I read that free content can't be offered on xbox live and ps3 iirc.
