Also, I've noticed that people all over the net are screaming "PLOT HOLES OMG", but I can't actually figure out what exactly happens that is indeed a "plot hole" in the conventional sense. Can anyone fill me in on that?
Well, just completed it.
Sure, the ending's a downer whatever way you look at it, but I didn't really think it was THAT treacherous. To save all of organic civilisation, Shepard was forced to enact a sacrifice that completely changed the game for the entire universe. That's some scope right there if you ask me!
I'm surprised there aren't more people from here playing multiplayer. it's good fun and I'm finding myself playing it more than Bf3 the past few days. Add me on origin, Tesslacoil
Also watching the ME3 ad's on TV makes me want to play again!
The Normandy. And squad members who died on Earth leaving the shuttle at the end
How come Traffic is moving as normal on the Citadel in the background whilst you are talking to the Illusive Man.
There are more, the doc linked below describes them well.
I think the real kick in the teeth about the ending was this line from Space-Wizard-child just after he appears from nowhere- "I control the Reapers"
.......WHAT? Thats it????
From Mass Effect-
Sovereign: My kind transcends your very understanding. We are each a nation - independent, free of all weakness. You cannot grasp the nature of our existence.
Sovereign: We have no beginning. We have no end. We are infinite. Millions of years after your civilization has been eradicated and forgotten, we will endure.
This document describes the ridiculousness of the ending very well imo, even if you do not believe the indoctrination theory-

Thanks for the document link - that's exactly what I needed! Considering the "awakening in the rubble" clip at the end, I'm going with the Indoctrination theory.

It makes so much sense, even if it is not 100%.
I believe that they planned the indoctrination story and then changed it last minute because of the leak, then the slapped something together and we will get an announcement of the real ending (but it must be FREE)
The thing that clinched it for me was from that document. Something that I hadn't realized before- Star-Wizards voice is Male and Female Shepards voice in L/R speakers.....surely all this must be on purpose!
Plus, as you say, the awakening scene can't really be taken seriously otherwise.
Yep, chances are (I think) there'll be a DLC pack coming up which picks up right at that moment. The ending we all just saw was Shepard's internal fight against indoctrination after being knocked unconscious by Harbinger's laser while approaching the transport beam.
After successfully warding off the indoctrination, Shepard will awaken in the rubble, scramble to the beam and ACTUALLY fire off the Crucible. Cue the real ending.
It has probably already been mentioned but theres an event this weekend where if you do a reaper event on silver or gold, you get a random n7 weapon(only 1 regardless of playthroughs). Theres also a reward for the community killling 1 million brutes over the weekend, but they dont have any progress bar for it.
I've done loads of reaper events on gold today and not gotten any weapons.
