*** Mass Effect 3 ***

Some new maps for the MP would be good. Got a soldier up to level 20, the frag grenades are very useful but I also have an infiltrator up to about level 13 or so.

I have been playing the MP quite a bit over the last couple of days, have to say it isn't actually that bad.

Got an Asari Adept to lv20 and it is utterly ridiculous, maxed out powers and the Biotic skill, ignore fitness because the differance is pathetic. Can take down a Brute/Ravager in 2 Biotic Explosions, Stasis Bubble + Throw clears a pack of Marauder and Cannibals die to a single Throw. I use a Carnifex as a side arm which adds a good bit of power between CDs.

It is a incredibly delicate glass canon but the damage capability is berserk, I'm doing mostly golds now and I am always 20-30K above everyone else by the last waves.

One thing however is that I think they need to adjust the resuscitate mechanic so that you can't be targeted whilst getting up, I'm getting a little bored of ressing someone or being ressed and a Banshee instantly reporting over and starting their insta-kill animation before the person has even stood up. As an Adept I can "sometimes" get an explosion off in time to break it but that is rather hit and miss.

Well, just completed it.

Sure, the ending's a downer whatever way you look at it, but I didn't really think it was THAT treacherous. To save all of organic civilisation, Shepard was forced to enact a sacrifice that completely changed the game for the entire universe. That's some scope right there if you ask me!

Also, I've noticed that people all over the net are screaming "PLOT HOLES OMG", but I can't actually figure out what exactly happens that is indeed a "plot hole" in the conventional sense. Can anyone fill me in on that?

I've been intending to go back and import my full Renegade char from ME1 into ME2, do that full Renegade, then into ME3 however looking up stuff on YouTube, I decided to take a look at what happens if you refuse Legion's code upload and really... after playing through all of the games it absolutely horrified me. I mean, honestly upsetting. I just can't bring myself to do that to him, which I guess nips those intended playthroughs in the bud. Amazing just how invested you become in these games.

The Normandy. And squad members who died on Earth leaving the shuttle at the end
How come Traffic is moving as normal on the Citadel in the background whilst you are talking to the Illusive Man.
There are more, the doc linked below describes them well.

I think the real kick in the teeth about the ending was this line from Space-Wizard-child just after he appears from nowhere- "I control the Reapers"

.......WHAT? Thats it????

From Mass Effect-

Sovereign: My kind transcends your very understanding. We are each a nation - independent, free of all weakness. You cannot grasp the nature of our existence.

Sovereign: We have no beginning. We have no end. We are infinite. Millions of years after your civilization has been eradicated and forgotten, we will endure.

:(

This document describes the ridiculousness of the ending very well imo, even if you do not believe the indoctrination theory-

Well I guess you're right in that you destroy the reapers or at least end the threat of them depending on your 'choice', but at the same time the Mass Relays get destroyed no matter which option you pick. That huge armada you brought to take back earth is now stuck there, with the aliens probably starving to death. Those that survive on their own worlds all cut off from the rest of the galaxy, and thats if the destruction of the relays didn't just wipe out their solar systems anyway.

I'm surprised there aren't more people from here playing multiplayer. it's good fun and I'm finding myself playing it more than Bf3 the past few days. Add me on origin, Tesslacoil

Also watching the ME3 ad's on TV makes me want to play again!

I would absolutely love to play the game again, I just can't bring myself to do it.

Thanks for the document link - that's exactly what I needed! Considering the "awakening in the rubble" clip at the end, I'm going with the Indoctrination theory.

It makes so much sense, even if it is not 100%.

I believe that they planned the indoctrination story and then changed it last minute because of the leak, then the slapped something together and we will get an announcement of the real ending (but it must be FREE)

The thing that clinched it for me was from that document. Something that I hadn't realized before- Star-Wizards voice is Male and Female Shepards voice in L/R speakers:eek: .....surely all this must be on purpose!

Plus, as you say, the awakening scene can't really be taken seriously otherwise.

Im also finding the mp part of the game pretty entertaining. Got a turian sentinel and a quarian engineer to lv20. End up using one weapon on both so i can power spam which seems to work out quite well for me, just got my carnifex which is a nice damage dealer if i decide to follow up my cyro blast with a headshot instead of incinerate.

The incendiary explosion doesnt always proc on a frozen enemy which is a bit irritating. I sometimes seem to get killed by banshees when im a few metres away which also isnt fun, unless thats meant to happen? The killing animation is preceeded by me sliding along the floor for a second or so until im right infront of the banshee. Sometimes its me being an idiot but more than half the time I get killed that way.

Hopefully this post makes sense, i cant edit it on my phone

Anyway if anyone fancies a game on MP my names handheld_biscuit. Unfortunately i wont be online until next weekend at the earliest.

Are the heavier enemies like banshees and brutes susceptible to cryo blasts slowing and damage increasing effects? There doesn't seem to be any indication of either working.

Yep, chances are (I think) there'll be a DLC pack coming up which picks up right at that moment. The ending we all just saw was Shepard's internal fight against indoctrination after being knocked unconscious by Harbinger's laser while approaching the transport beam.

After successfully warding off the indoctrination, Shepard will awaken in the rubble, scramble to the beam and ACTUALLY fire off the Crucible. Cue the real ending.

Way i see it, there's two choices really.
1) The writers quietly (without making it known to the other devs) went for the indoctrination thing for unknown reasons (some of the statements/comments/the ME3 final hours thing really leaves the impression the indoctrination stuff was either not planned or not known to everyone).

2) The writers are the most incompetent fools to ever be allowed near a story.

The only problem with that is that there have been comments that suggest that the indoc ending was scrapped(that IOS app, whatever it was called), so if they run with the indoc theory now, which I hope they do, they would probably be starting to create the content from scratch.

Though I still haven't ruled out the possibility of them doing it on purpose as a stunt - "YOU HAVE ALL BEEN INDOCTRINATED". I mean there are loads of youtube vids of fan-made endings which are much better......and they have been knocked up in a few minutes. The incompetence of this ending is unbelievable.

I really hope they had it planned, but the hope is wearing thinner with every day of silence from the devs.:(

I think I will post in the endings thread from now on. There are people playing multiplayer and everything who are enjoying the game, and want to discuss it. And I am just so disappointed that I am probably moaning too much:p
I don't want to ruin the game for anyone.:)

PS some of the threads and memes coming out of BSN are absolutely hilarious!

It has probably already been mentioned but theres an event this weekend where if you do a reaper event on silver or gold, you get a random n7 weapon(only 1 regardless of playthroughs). Theres also a reward for the community killling 1 million brutes over the weekend, but they dont have any progress bar for it.

I've done loads of reaper events on gold today and not gotten any weapons.
